I have once sentence I want to change in an already published story.

The FAQ provides clear instructions for editing an already published story (below).

Does this process reset the votes and ratings?

I don't want a tweak to a single sentence to reset the votes, but the purist in me feels it should.

"Simply submit the new version as you submitted the old one, only adding the word "EDITED" to the title (ex. "My Sexy Firefighter Ch. 03 - EDITED") "

If you’ve read it then you should have already seen the answer you’re looking for. Edit according to guidelines and your stars and comments remain the same.

No, it doesn't change views, comments, votes, but it's a bit of a time waster.

For a single sentence? Don't bother. That's what some call "vanity edits" - you'll be the only person who cares or notices.

The lesson is, submit the best copy you can first time, and then remember the First Rule of Lit - you'll spot the first typo a micro-second after you submit the story. Everybody does it, I've yet to see 100% perfect copy anywhere.
