Fetish is about the only place it can go. Low readership, but a very accepting one, its a good category to avoid being abusedPut any of these in EC and see what happens, however.

I agree, although I would argue that EC isn't a monolith. I would assume that they're the widest and least restrictive group (at least in theory). That's the point, and what the OP is asking: it's not true that "there are no rules."
I'd say a rule is "don't put squicky stuff in EC if you want it to find an audience who'll appreciate it." I get that anal sex is not squicky to a lot of people, and I'll readily acknowledge that a bit of assplay that falls short of penetration isn't really squicky at all... but a DP probably is.
EC is a raw bones "basic" story with no additional kink EC is UPS driver shows up, horny woman answers door, sex ensues with a lo of jokes about big packages....but it seems if the delivery is in the rear we might have an issue.I agree, although I would argue that EC isn't a monolith. The category is simply "straight people have sex"
I honestly feel like the fact that it's a threesome was probably more damning than the fact that it contained anal.
That said, I've never posted in EC, so I am only trying to apply my outsiders experience in a way that might be helpful.
That got a stifled chuckle out of me. One of these is not like the others...UPS driver is invited in by sexy woman who then kills and devours him-EH
I personally feel like Fantasy would be the perfect place for that, although I can't say how well it would be received. How would anal be received, no pun intended, in Fantasy? My heroine is a succubus prototype, who was built with male parts to please the (straight) man she was assigned to. I've read a lot in the TC category, and there are several succubus stories, but I don't think my story belongs there. The tone and story arc very different from what's there. Plus, it's really a love story, and is about so much more than genitalia and who is doing what to whom. I would certainly use tags for TC and anal, but Fantasy feels right to me for another reason. I have a fertile imagination, and that category allows me to bend reality to suit my ideas.
Thank you @MediocreAuthor for confirming Fantasy as the optimal choice. I'm experiencing a lot of uncertainty, and choosing the right category was one of my greatest concerns.I personally feel like Fantasy would be the perfect place for that, although I can't say how well it would be received.
I wrote a fantasy story with an female demigoddess who uses a man, and basically pegs him with her inhuman physiology, (here) and many readers said that I should have put it in Fantasy instead of NC/R, considering it's basically only reluctance/coercion.
I never really bother reading stories in T&C, because it contains more stories about real world transexuals and crossdressers, which don't interest me... but I'll read anything in fantasy, because it's safely removed from reality.
Don't blab on too much though. You can't second guess every Johnny's squick, so why bother? You're going to lose as many readers as you keep if you have disclaimers and squik lists up front.I will craft a detailed intro that warns readers about any elements that could be offensive to some
Oh my gosh this made me laugh.a good mother would never let her son fuck her ass.
I didn't mean long, more like a list. I've read comments like: " I didn't know there was going to be "X", I wish you'd warned us". And, you're right, I don't want to blather on, just give an idea of that the story is about, more like a hook, to make them curious. Here in AH, I've also read a lot of comments from authors who check out the intro to decide if they're going to read a story, especially if it's in a category they don't frequent often. Apparently Fantasy is not as heavily read, so I want to take advantage of the intro to pull in that type of readership.Don't blab on too much though. A "detailed intro" is going to give the story away, surely? Keep your intro short, if you really think it's necessary. I don't think it will make much difference at all.
