I am here primarily for the banter on the threads. If an AI bot is making me laugh then kudos to the technological age.

I do post pics on one thread and all the beautiful ladies (and men) I've seen post there look genuine to me. But tbf I have only recently started posting.

I work in IT and AI has been part of my world for a long time so hope I would spot a fake pic.
Also, using AI is nuanced...
Is somebody just erasing a scar they are self conscious about, blurring a background, adding lighting effects etc?
Or is the pic completely AI generated?

I think the issue comes down to the purpose of using AI.
Is it to boost the poster's confidence or is it to manipulate the target audience?

I believe that if a person is completely fabricating their persona it will all come out in the wash eventually. But understand this can be painful to find out.

But goddammit the day these bots start offering brie I'm fucked.

EDIT: as forgot to say... posting a pic of yourself is hard to do, you want to do it to feel confident but you feel vulnerable at the same time.
Posting completely AI generated pics is obviously something that is done here and my view on poster's like that is that they are wankers

I would like to step back from the heat of recent discussions and ask something broader.

Is authenticity important here?

Lit is structured around threads, dialogue and ongoing interaction, with images being only one part of the site. By contrast, there are endless places online to scroll through porn without speaking to a single person, with no community element and no conversation required. So if someone is only interested in visuals and not the person behind them, what makes this space different?

For me, the appeal has always been that there are real people here. The images are part of it, of course. But so are the personalities, the humour, the back and forth, and the sense that there is a human being on the other side of the screen.

That is why authenticity matters to me.

Authenticity does not mean forcing verification. Anonymity and privacy absolutely matter. But there is a difference between protecting privacy and fabricating an identity. Protecting privacy means choosing what you reveal about a real self. Fabricating identity means presenting something as real that is not.

That distinction matters because it shapes whether we are interacting with real people or performances.

So the real question becomes this:

If a space built around interaction becomes flooded with imported images, AI content, or personas that are not grounded in a real person, does that change what kind of place this is? Does it slowly become just another scrolling platform rather than an open community?

If authenticity becomes optional, then the vulnerability of sharing something real becomes interchangeable with something synthetic. Over time, that shifts trust, expectations and the character of the space itself.

I often hear that many users skip sections of text and look straight for posts with pictures. That is their choice. But it does make me reflect. If the human element is irrelevant, what separates Lit from any other site that serves purely visual content?

In a world so heavily saturated with edited realities and disinformation, does it matter if some spaces remain rooted in actual human interaction?

I genuinely think it does.

I also understand that some people come here primarily to escape reality. To enjoy fantasy and to totally disconnect from everyday life and step into something playful or erotic without needing it to be grounded in anything 'real'. There is nothing inherently wrong with that...But for others, part of the appeal is that there is a real person behind the username. The fantasy might be heightened or stylised, but it is still anchored to someone who actually exists. Those are two entirely different ways of engaging.

I am not trying to take fantasy or escapism away from anyone. I know this is an erotic space. Fantasy, exaggeration and playful personas are part of what makes it fun. No one is expecting ID checks or fingerprint recognition.

However, there is still a difference between consensual fantasy and misrepresentation. If we all understand something is stylised (ie, the person behind an account has openly chosen to stay anon) or roleplay, that is one thing, if something is presented as real and it is not, that is something else entirely.

So for me, when authenticity is dismissed altogether, it can unintentionally make those who are here as themselves feel interchangeable with something manufactured.

That is the part that matters to me.

I am really interested in hearing different perspectives. This is not about naming and shaming or targeting anyone. It is about discussing what we want this space to be, and whether authenticity plays a role in that.

I don't believe LIT is a place, where authenticity is encouraged. Sure the pictures are expected to be real, but not personalities. Most people here want to feel like they belong and in turn follows the crowd. You can see it throughout the threads, example: Is every woman's pictures stunning ? .


I have seen people pretend to be nice and most of lit eats it up, even though the reality isn't authentic and they're an expert at gaslighting. It's very rare to find a unique personality on lit and even more rare to find someone, who are the same person on lit as they're in their personal lives.



Don't get me wrong, I enjoy posting on LIT, but I don't expect authenticity here.

As for the comments you mentioned (likely the ones under women’s pictures)… I don’t think those are always genuine either and it’s often pretty obvious when it’s surface-level ESPECIALLY those that are repeated over and over again.

For me, I don’t just post images… I share parts of my life, I write, I post audios I share my opinions… And there are a handful of people here who engage with me, not just what I look like. That’s the kind of authenticity I value!! And I know others do too.

I’m not expecting people to be identical to their offline selves since that wouldn’t be realistic whatsoever, but I do question what happens when the “real person underneath” stops mattering at all… which is why I asked the question in the first place. Does authenticity matter?

Because the wider issue here is people using images that don’t belong to them to gain attention, affection, or praise. And what I’ve realised from here is that a lot of people genuinely don’t seem to care… or expect them to be lying anyway…

As someone who is posting my own images, that does have an impact. It makes authenticity feel interchangeable. It raises the question of what is actually being valued?

What’s the point in putting yourself out there, insecurities included, if who you are doesn’t matter?

At that point, it stops being about the people here that come to escape reality, share images, share their stories and talk about kinks etc…

Hm. Im not denying the majority of the content is links to models or weird pics, but the ones I enjoy the most are the pics and stories posted by real people. Especially the ones with doubts and imperfections. I do have to look for those, but I appreciate those so much more. If I want something specific, I go to other sites. It’s the connections to people here that I value the most.

I was heading down a similar train of thought but you said it much better than I.

I work in a medical academic setting and the instructors are largely AI resistant citing plagerism as the great threat; and I don't argue as they aren't wrong. I don't argue when I read the plight of victims of AI generated deep fake adult content and general misrepresentation. However, I believe all these cited negative examples, the one OP posts about, my colleagues, and the victims, share a common element - misuse. AI is a tool like a hammer. I can build a house or bash my neighbors head in. Another train of thought I want to explore at another time will be the question of authenticity in the context of a Internet website where anonymity is celebrated and fiction is the common connecting topic.

On here it doesn't matter much, because vast majority here aren't looking for marriage. Authenticity and morals matter, when you're for someone to share your life with, not when you're just looking to bust a nut. It's unfortunate, but generally true

Hi gorgeous - I can't keep up with all your posts but this is a fab thread (which I'm obviously late to again...). Your posts here are very perceptive and are I think largely true (reasons for things can be subjective but that doesn't mean the things aren't true).

I like it here as the people I engage with are real and authentic and vulnerable and don't shy away from that and I'm here for them.

I have met someone from here and it was amazing and I hope to meet her again and others. In fact... there are enough cool Londoner's around that I've some thoughts on that for us all as I could then buy you that long promised drink.

Conversations occur....spanning months...first starting in threads...progressing elsewhere. Conversations are not just sexual...in fact most are not except the fun banter that everyone does. You learn the names of their kids...and vice versa. Share moments good and bad. As time passes...you know there is something there...so you ask. I am not at Lit for that. If I was I would be interested in you. Ok...but if you change your mind...

2 months later....they are openly crying online about how so and so just wanted pics ect. Someone they only just hooked up with. And they complain about how that's been their experience over and over. And the floodgates open...information flows freely. You just sit back and watch. And learn.

All they had to do was say I am not interested in you that way. Or I am already playing with someone else. Or any number of things. Don't say if I was I would be interested in you.

Lit has changed drastically over the years. The games played today were not played when I first arrived here. They just weren't. But then...they were...

I had a friend. They died. They knew they was dying. The surviving family members found tens of thousands of videos, pictures, emails, DMs of them being unfaithful. Many with those still posting today. Do you know the damage that has created? All they had to do was delete everything. But instead...they left it for their family.

I think people define authenticity very differently.
