Does anyone know what knot this is...?

This is a rather gruesome place to find an example of a knot, but I intend nothing else than just to ask if anyone else knows what kind of knot they are using here @ 1 m 24 s?

It might be a shibari style knot, but I am not really into shibari bondage. What I am "studying" (for lack of a better word) is more like the way rope begins behind the neck then forward before being looped around under the arms somehow.

As a cultural "diffuser" of similar examples - if you have ever seen the movie "Apocalypto", when neighboring tribes capture the people they take as slaves, they use a similar kind of knot, except it's done with a stick and the straps are configured somewhat differently.

Anyway, I can't tell exactly how the knots on the Chinese prisoner were being bound, or what they are called. I just wanted to see if anyone knows.

All due respect intended to everyone involved in these pictures. No bad wishes for anyone living or deceased.

fwiw, it got me interested in Shibari...

Took awhile to catch on to Shibari, but it's actually kind of fun thinking about all the possibilities...

I can't see anything useful from the footage, but the loop behind the neck is just a swiss climbing knot. It would almost certainly was tied in the middle of the rope, and can be tied quickly in the middle of the rope without moving either end.

It is often used with, or combined with a truckers hitch, (depending on how you define the truckers hitch) it allows you to cinch a load down with nothing but rope.
