Does anyone else get the Sunday "blues"?

I realize for some folks this weekend is already over.

But in NYC, I find that it's Sunday once again, and I'm starting to feel what I've named the "Sunday blues".

This feeling surfaced way back when I would dread going to school, then it continued through my working years. Even though I no longer have school or work (temporarily I hope!!) facing me, I still find that "pit in the stomach" dread feeling starting to swell.

Even Sunday night television feels "different" to me as well.

Does anyone else get a similar feeling?

When I was a kid I hated sundays too. I always felt that there was a clock on me all day long. I like sundays now because I get lots of time with the kids. yehaaaaa. Being a big kid I look forward to being with my ilk.

Yes, Jenny.

I feel especially down on sundays if I have had a weekend of housework and no companionship.

But then, there is next weekend to look forward to .

:D

*hugs*

Yes... that "ticking" clock!! I guess we become more aware of how soon the weekend will be over.

Thanks, Miss Taken.... yes... thank goodness for NEXT weekend!:rose:

Not to kill your thread............but

a couple years ago, down in the Keys, I was in a ship chandlery writing a check for parts I needed on the boat. I filled in the amount, the store, signed it and asked " what's the date?"

Guy looked at me and said, " the fifth."

I looked at my check, at my friend, around the store and said,

" Of what?"

I didn't know what month it was!!!!!!!

Send me back, please!!!!

I know what you mean...

Thought I would post to say hi to my new-found buddy Jenny. Hello fellow LDR buddy!

I do know what you mean...Sundays are the pits. I am still in school part-time...and working on weekends as well, so every Sunday night it seems I shake my head going, "where was the weekend!?...what do you mean I have to start all over again tomorrow!?"
Added to that....the weekends are the best times to try and connect with the woman I love (see Jenny's Long Distance thread for more info)...and thus, every Sunday is the day I dread...because it means the start of another busy week for the two of us....another week of missed messages and hurried goodnight phone calls.

Sheesh...didnt mean to bring down the thread....but, I do know the feeling from which you speak...and you are not alone. Please take care all.

*sigh*

Oh Jenny-girl, I know what you mean about those Sunday blues. It means another weekend has gone by, is almost over, and the next morning I have to face work once again. Which does make me feel physically ill, and has on a daily basis for many months now. "Just another manic Monday...." hehe. I remember a time when the weekend was enough to refresh me, get me ready to face the next week! But now...it is just enough to keep me clinging to sanity (sometimes! :D)

But...on a good note...at least I get a little more sleep on the weekends! Sometimes even on Sunday nights!

*blue Sunday hugs*!

I've got the Sunday blues now, because some people just suck!
Foxy you have anymore sunshine to spare?

Summery:kiss:

I have the Impression, that this "Sunday blues" is
typical for people which feel lonely.
I made this experience some years ago after my divorce.
I hated these weekends and all those "happy people"
around me.
Lit could have been a big support for me during those days.
I compensated these weekends with work and cooking.
Since that time I'm a perfect cook and can create wonderful
menues.

RhumbRunner: I have had weeks of feeling "lost" in the calendars! Even when I was working, and had calendars in my face, I would usually hesitate when it came to writing out checks myself. Ever wake up thinking it's Saturday, only to realize a half hour later that it's really Thursday?

Hi Smiley... I think you pointed out what my problem's been like the last several months! You hit on my feelings right now exactly!:rose:

Morning Mae... sleep?? What's sleep??;)

Thank you Foxy... I can feel some of that sunshine already!:rose:

Hugs to SummerRose and Schumi too.

Thanks for sharing, and hope we all can manage a satisfying and peaceful week!:rose:

Thank you Foxy for the sunshine...it finally reached me this morning!:)

Thank you Jenny for the hugs!:rose:

Today is finally Monday, and though I am still feeling sick, it is looking like a much better day............:)

The last few years, my work schedule has been so unconventional that I really didn't know what day on which to have "the blues".

Most weeks, though, it comes on Saturday evening, after a good night with my friends, knowing that I'm heading into another week without weekends and things are going to be busy yet again.

Hi Jim. I have a friend who experiences his "blue Sundays" on Friday nights because of his schedule. A week without "weekends" must be tough; we're so conditioned to the "work week"/weekend type of thinking.

Anticipation is my enemy lately, and I think it's a cause of this "end of weekend/beginning of another week" type of blues.

Unfortunately this time my blue Sunday has turned into a blue/black kind of Monday!:( I guess the week just has to get better now!

Feel better, Summer Rose!:rose:

2 months later

It's another Sunday night! Even with the added sunshine outside, and even though I still haven't found a job, I feel those Sunday "blues" creeping in again!

Fortunately time online with my 'Man helps so much, but DANG on the "blues"!!:rose:

Guess I should play some music!

Love this group!

This is my second Sunday knowing that there won't be an e-mail, pm or phone call to help ease me into Monday morning.

I think Sunday afternoon is much worse than any Monday could ever be.

I couldn't agree more

My feelings too.

There's always going to be a "Monday" no matter what day your particular week begins. The afternoon before the final evening of "resuming" another week is tough. It just reminds me that another week has gone by and my life still hasn't progressed much from the weeks before!

Sorry to hear that Morninggirl.

Sunday night TV is actually better than Friday night (by a long shot), but I still feel the "end" of week thing. As a kid, I used to almost count commercial breaks, knowing that my bedtime was approaching!!:rose:
