Do You? v2

A fitbit :)

Do you believe that children should be encouraged to believe in Santa beyond the age of 8?

No. I personally think the magic of Christmas is in giving to others....love Santa but think the truth can be just as magical.

Do you believe that today's children get way too much stuff for Christmas? (on the average)

Yup, I do. Keeping up with the Joneses is silly.

Do you enjoy wrapping gifts with bows/ribbons etc etc?

nope I use those bags made for holidays anfd purt some tissue in to cover the gift

DY prefer a real or fake Christmas tree?

I don't think that they should believe in Santa at all. Wouldn't it make a gift more special if kids understood the hoops that their parents had to jump through in order to get it, rather than just thinking that some shiny beardy man gave it to them?

(Same could be said of religion, but let's not go there.)

That said, I do think that kids should be encouraged to believe ... not necessarily in magic, but that science isn't everything (then again, science can be pretty magical when you get into some of the deeper stuff).

Maybe I shouldn't have posted this.

Do you believe that the thought counts more than the gift itself?

Of course you should post your thoughts! :) That's what makes this so interesting, that we think differently.

I believe that children should be encouraged to have an open mind to spiritual, scientific and everything in between. Question what they see, be confident to challenge and form their own ideas. But I also believe in allowing the innocence of children for as long as society allows.

Same question as before (if someone hasn't snuck in before me by now :) )
