Good morning. Just a minor clarification: He won by 1.5 percentage points of the popular vote. He had no majority for he did not garner over 50% of the voting public nor does he have claim to a mandate. Unfortunately, this past election played as elections have for the past 25 years where 1/3 vote for the republican, 1/3 vote for the democrat and the winning margins are determined by the 1/3 of us who are too lazy to take part in the democratic process but may, at times, find motivation to do so.I don't hate him, but then I'm not an American.
I just think it's sad that the majority of Americans felt that he was the best person for the job.
People like Trump will come and go, but it will be very hard to trust Americans to see the bigger picture, take the longer view, and in general not shoot themselves in the dick for a chance to "oWn teh LiBs".
I’m not going to comment on the ‘own the libs’ part, but would also like to point out that Americans don’t trust other Americans. There still is 1/3 of us here who could once politely disagree on policies with political opponents now questioning the morality, intelligence, and patriotism of our family, coworkers, neighbors and countrymen. As an American to any foreigner reading - yes, my country cannot be trusted and you would be wise to use an over abundance of caution when dealing with our current political leadership.
Have yourself a great rest of your day.
