Do You Really Exist?

I see how it's going to be. You're going to just come back

into my life with military orders hmmm? Well, ok then.

So be it.

And yes Im smiling, I know youre going to ask.

...as you should be Mrs. H :) You know my theory about that.

and no orders just helping you with life's ponderings. There's much more to this thread topic than you may realize.

Mrs H, loved your poem/narrative/prose a lot. There are indeed men out there that do exist. I would like to think that I am one of them. I think that in role reversal the same could be said for the women.

We have traded some PM's sporadically over time. I am a big fan of yours. I hope that you find what your looking for. If not I am always here with open arms.

To the men of Lit?

This is what so many of us women are looking

for. This is what we crave and yearn for. Whether from

our spouses, significant others, lovers ~ real or fantasy.

Does a man who believe this exist?

(Thank you to my dear friend who sent me this poem)

this is what should be said to you by your lover this morning....

waking up to realize
just how much I despise
still another bright sunrise
unable to show me your sweet eyes

next to me in bed I wish
pulling you to me ascloseasthis
delivering a loving kiss
rekindling last night's bliss

far away but in my mind
creating fantasies of this kind
hoping a way I will find
to make you forever mine

You know we exist.

But it takes the right woman to bring out

the caring, loving, aching side in us.

The side that would protect you from all the evils

and pamper you with the finest of gifts.

To hang on your every word

and respond with an actual caring thought.

We exist, we are far away but we are out there...

More than I realize? What do you mean? I'd

love to know your thoughts.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the question being asked, but I'll take a shot at some sort of response - sorry if I missed the boat.

Over the years I've spent on Lit, there have really only been a handful of men I've had knowledge of beyond the boundaries of the online world. Of those, only two have been connected enough to me to really SHARE who we were with each other. We've bonded over silliness, sorrow, passion, laughter and frustration even. Shared pieces of our lives with stories and pictures of our families, awkward moments of life, aspirations for the future and supporting times of hardship, seeking and giving advice.

I've come to need their pressence in my life for different reasons now as our friendships have evolved over the years, but I rely on the bond and miss it greatly when there's extended periods of absence. One has been immersed in starting a new life for himself that has left no time for online, and though I wish him nothing but success and happiness, I miss his friendship dearly.

To me, these two people are as 'real' as real can be. Certainly there may be things about them that I don't know, or perhaps even a few facts that have been drawn in a more flattering light....but it's the soul of them that I feel close to. Details are minor and change constantly - be it online or off. I know their hearts, and I know their goodness, just as they know mine. It doesn't get any more REAL than that.

That is so beautifully said, I thank you.

You have a wonderful way with words and you put

it so eloquently.

alright alright fine I admit it. . .

I dont really exist. . . .

now what am I gonna do . . . .

More than I realize? What do you mean? I'd

love to know your thoughts.

Well I agree with luzmature, Riles and other comments as to the existence of this type of male. If men honestly asked themselves if they want it then they must make an effort to obtain it. Finding the muse who inspires is a necessity and a way to greater personal insight.

They don't, it's all fairytales....

We men are never as perfect as all that,

we simply are,

some suck,

some are ok,

some pretty good,

maybe even close to Prince Charmering,

but, we'll never be exactly what is expected of us.

Quilting now? That's for me, the patterns are so exciting! A nice friendly social, quiet little hobby.

Why would you think you missed the boat honey? You totally got it.

In my 10 years on Lit, there has only been one person that I shared

and bared my soul too. It was a magical feeling that I wish I could

have bottled. It would be so nice to have that again......... I wonder

though, is it possible. That is all.

No wonder why I have adored you for so long!!

Are you sure about that?

Are you sure about that?

I am usually exactly what is expected of me. . . .

of course it isnt my fault people have such low expectations of me:(

-soft smile-

I think we all have stories of "One". Sometimes the fire burns hot and long and other times it smoulders out, leaving you with nothing but dust. The way I see it is you need to embrace the experience, acknowledge the positive ways that person changed you, then blow the ashes into the wind, because if I have learned anything over the years, it's that measuring all others against the "One" is an exercise in futility and completely undermines the potential of new possibilities.

Yes.

Inspired all the time? How would you know the difference? What was once extraordinary, becomes meerly ordinary. Contrast is needed to keep things fresh.
