I suppose one could say that romance is in the eye (or feel) of another....I am definitely not a traditionally romantic guy by any means, but I have been told that I have some mannerisms and habits that are romantic. Little things such as the need to touch, even when sleeping, the unexpected caresses....nothing much, but meaningful to those that look for them and receive them.

I tend to just concentrate on being a decent guy, not quick to judge...and happy to just BE with someone. But I am definitely not the guy described initially in the thread.

Sometimes it's just wonderful just having a decent guy too. As long as

you are thoughtful and kind.

I guess my question is: where is the line between being a nice guy, and being "too" nice? being a decent human being, and being a doormat?

Being a decent human being is remembering special dates, holding the

door open, things like that. Being a doormat is setting yourself up for

failure. It's going to strip clubs and giving strippers money to pay their

bills, it's calling all the time even when she's made it clear she doesnt

want to go out with you.

Does that make sense?

Yes there are men out there who feel this way about the women in their life...I would venture to say the majority do...whether they are able to express it in such terms is another question.

Actually, guys like that do exist. Unfortunately, many of them have serious battle scars that preclude them from being themselves. Thank the lying, cheating, asshole women out there that steal the innocence and hearts of good guys.
