Curious as to how many here visit the story side and how often.

Cross posting since this board gets a different crowd.

No. I read a few, and wasn't hooked. I enjoy well crafted stories with a sexual component, as opposed to a sexual story line. It's an age thing; when I was younger, Penthouse Letters was more to my taste.

No I don’t. I have read a few that people I’ve befriended over the board have written or sent me to read because they thought I’d enjoy them, but in general I never read stories here.

It’s too difficult to find anything I’d truly enjoy in the huge mass of stories, as I’m not necessarily interested in the same things that an average reader might look for, so I don’t even try. The H for hot stories hasn’t been a helpful indicator for me in past.

The stories first brought me here, because of some issues with asstr and drama around a Swedish story site.

How much I visited the stoy side of the site has varied a lot over time.
These days I visit the story side once in a while.
I come back more consistently when I find someone who writes things I like, because as others said, it’s not easy to find the good stuff.

I found this site because of the stories. When I find a good author I am hooked. Some stories are cliche, but then again I am focused on a very specific theme.
Now when I do read stories I only read ones that are award winners or really highly rated. Although I will occasionally read so new submissions to rate those.
I haven't submitted anything lately.

The story section is why I originally landed on this site, and I dive in and skim through a couple of the categories every few days but rarely read entire stories. I have a handful of favorites saved but for the most part I am not blown away by the writing. I keep it simple and just go for the hotness factor, but I much prefer the small collection of erotica books/anthologies that I go back to again and again if I want to do some sexy reading.
Agreed. Those were excellent.

Never go there unless a friend of mine has posted a story, then I'll go to show my support. As for just looking around to check it out or read stories...never.

I came for the stories, then discovered this side. I follow both daily.
Same here. I read stories daily, for quite some time before I discovered the forum. I visit both on a regular basis. I have a number of stories posted as well.

Like many I've seen before me, I found the story side of Lit before moving to the forums. I do read stories from more categories than before though not as frequently.

Another who came to read the stories, stuck around to write some and then found the forum. I visit both daily. Most of the stories are hit or miss, but there are plenty of good ones as well.

Oh yes I do.
Admittedly, some are poor, but then again some of the comments underneath the stories are outrageous. I've noticed some really bigoted responses to stories.
I read a story last week which I never thought would excite me, but I've now read it over 10 times - it's a winner for me.

I do, but much less since I started writing. I seem to only have the attention for one or the other at a time. These days most of what I read is either from specific people I follow, or for feedback requests.

I read often and write occasionally. There is a link to my latest story below. Please let me know what you think. (Its very vanilla except for the murder. Oops)

I look occasionally, but it's hard to find interesting stories - the filtering here is terrible, unlike say AO3 where you can search for loads of terms and filter out results you don't want.

I actually ended up reading the forums to find new authors, and writing more in order to get some followers who might have already found some stuff I'd like. It's worked quite well.

AO3?

I first started coming here for the stories many years ago. I had a blast reading them back then.

But I agree with others, lately it feels like it's sometimes very difficult to find something that satisfies the current itch that doesn't just feel like the writer was attempting to check off a bunch of boxes or doesn't feel like it's a self insert of the author. There is that occasional diamond in the rough, but they often feel few and far in between.

I read stories daily on my phone, when I have an idle few minutes. I come to the forums on my computer, when I have time to indulge.
