US Supreme Court to decide access to abortion pill in major case
https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/ip3/www.msn.com.icoReuters|4 hours ago
By Andrew Chung(Reuters) -The U.S. Supreme Court, which in 2022 ended its recognition of a constitutional right to abortion, on Wednesday agreed to hear a bid by President Joe Biden's administration ...
There should be nationalized federal and state healthcare nationwide, free at the point of use for all. The right to abortion should be there for every woman, and the government needs to stay out of things like this. This all just hammers home the point the government needs to stay the fuck out of everyone's medical business, period.
that's a big 'unless' there, but with it earning that many signatures to have its place, there'll need to be some decent legalese for it to be discounted, surely? The citizen group that wants to enshrine abortion rights in the state’s constitution has exceeded the threshold to get the measure on the Nov. 5 ballot by collecting more than 1.4 million voter signatures, according to sources familiar with the effort.
“They’ve reached the number,” a source involved with the group, Floridians Protecting Freedom, told The Messenger. “This is going to be on the ballot. Unless the Florida Supreme Court discounts it, this is headed for the ballot.”
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/poli...&cvid=765738df8b0348cbbb5a37650e478b25&ei=111Missouri Republicans pulled a bill on Wednesday that would allow homicide charges to be brought against women who get abortions less than a week after the proposal was introduced.
Abortion is already illegal in Missouri, except in the case of a medical emergency, but this bill would have opened doors for prosecutors and anti-abortion groups to target women who obtain abortions. The bill did allow for a duress defense for “lawful” medical procedures performed by a doctor and if a physician performs an abortion to save a patient’s life.
Republicans in the state House and Senate both introduced bills to be heard this legislative session, proposing murder charges for women having an abortion in the state. While state GOP Rep. Bob Titus withdrew his chamber’s bill in a letter to House staff on Wednesday, the bill introduced by state Sen. Mike Moon is still pending.
- An anti-abortion couple promised pregnant women thousands of dollars if they didn't have abortions.
- The women had their babies, but the couple didn't always hold up their end of the deal.
- BI investigated, and now Let Them Live says it will pay out nearly $10,000 the women never got.
shit like this no longer surprises me, it's par for their course as it is for all the anti-abortionists: "Save the Fetus, but the post-birth baby's not my concern, nuh huh"it failed to deliver $30,660 of support it promised them for childcare, food, rent, and utilities, leaving one considering suicide and another having to "ask on Facebook" for diapers.
All the women said they were at least five months pregnant when they were told the support would be cut, meaning their options for abortion were narrowing. "I feel conned into keeping this baby," one told BI.
The whole thing is a culture war to divide the mass population from the fact that the rich continue to exploit us. I'm willing to bet that the overwhelming majority of religious moralists don't live by their own preaching and political posturing.Anti-abortion group Let Them Live to pay $10,000 it never gave to women who agreed not to terminate pregnancies

Its got nothing to do with the "rich" and everything to do with misogyny. The whole thing is a culture war to divide the mass population from the fact that the rich continue to exploit us. Directly from Ken Paxton's bank account.I still say if a state denies the procedure, they should be on the hook for every penny of care and upbringing.
Nothing is free. There should be nationalized federal and state healthcare nationwide, free at the point of use for all. The right to abortion should be there for every woman, and the government needs to stay out of things like this.
She never implied "free", as without cost, she said free at point of use. Yes dumbass your taxes and everyone else's would increase, but it brings a level of fairness to everyone, and access for all not just the lucky and rich.Nothing is free.
There's no logical or educational reason today for sexism to exist at all. Sexism is, however, one of many useful tools for dividing the mass population and undermining anti-establishment forces, which is why it does exist today. Misogyny is an extreme. Misogyny is a hatred of women, i.e. those men who are disgusted by, or get violent urges, when hearing of women, or in the presence of women, purely because those people are women. Too many people today use the word misogyny almost as another word for sexism, when it isn't.Its got nothing to do with the "rich" and everything to do with misogyny.
We all make mistakes and this is one. "No reason" for sexism to exist but then you lay out great reasons for its existence. Ugh. Totally tone deaf for this particular thread. The issues I and others arguing generally from the left have had with you has not reduced to insults relating to your sex. You've seen HisArpy, cermin and many others and their almost immediate negative reactive posts to virtually anything that BSG, Adrina, Butters, and any other openly identifying female says. Specifically demeaning them because they ARE female. And, yeah, they've attacked you for being a female with an opinion, too. Keep speaking up on reproductive rights. That's a strength for you. There's no logical or educational reason today for sexism to exist at all. Yes, to do with capitalism's need to divide real and potential anti-establishment forces on lines other than class. So it divides by gender, race, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, trans issues etc. and other things like abortion rights and gun rights. This isn't done for laughs or trolling pleasure, but for reasons of ensuring continued big business profit."No reason" for sexism to exist but then you lay out great reasons for its existence.
And you should be proud of them but, not wishing this on you or anyone else, if there were a cancerous growth in one would you want some politician deciding whether or not you could have it removed. Horrible what’s happening here in the states.Well, I definitely own my breasts. I still have the invoices to prove it. Cost me a small fortune but worth every cent I'd say.
Yost is a piece of shit.Order blocking enforcement of Ohio abortion ban stands after high court dismisses appeal

The Ohio Supreme Court has dismissed the state's challenge to a judge's order that's blocked enforcement of Ohio's near-ban on abortions for the past 14 months ...
Taxes wouldn't need to increase if a lot of taxpayer dollars weren't being wasted already, like on imperialist wars on the other side of the two biggest oceans on the planet, which in turn causes inflation. I read somewhere a while back that the US spends more money on its military than the next 10 countries on the list combined, even though those oceans are the biggest security that the US could have compared to countries in Europe and Asia. She never implied "free", as without cost, she said free at point of use. Yes dumbass your taxes and everyone else's would increase, but it brings a level of fairness to everyone, and access for all not just the lucky and rich.
You have a point, if the military budget was halved that would free up 350 billion dollars which would pay for single payer healthcare, with money leftover for many other social programs, or "gasp" even Education...Taxes wouldn't need to increase if a lot of taxpayer dollars weren't being wasted already,
The US doesn't spend the most on it's military due to security, it has enough Nukes to destroy the world a dozen times over. So from the point of security, the US is pretty safe. It does though use it's conventional military to ensure it can/will be be the dominant voice at the table in world affairs.I read somewhere a while back that the US spends more money on its military than the next 10 countries on the list combined, even though those oceans are the biggest security that the US could have compared to countries in Europe and Asia.
The information is readily available on US government web sites, you just need to put the time and effort into gathering it.I'd like to see the full list of what taxpayers' money is spent on, and how much. A lot of it must be corporate welfare too (sorry, "subsidies").
