Do you own your body?

It is only gonna get worse. A Republican candidate in Michigan supports a GOP Group working to repeal the 19th Amendment. You know...the one that gave women the right to vote.

Ownership of the physical self isn't a political question. Even if your dictionary has a very different definition of "politics" from mine, the answer is still "no, I don't own my body."

The most sensible way of answering the question of ownership of anything is to say that the only thing I truly own is that which I couldn't lose in a shipwreck.

Consequently, no, I don't own my body, nor anything really, other than perhaps my last breath. Even that single breath, I may "own" for only an instant.
Okey dokey. I'll tell the government that they can come and take your organs and other bodily tissues. Ya know, since you don't own them.

Reading comprehension - passing score. Well done!
Ironic. You're putting forth a philosophical, somewhat religious argument for a legal question. Your "answer" goes against all legal doctrine when it comes to bodily autonomy.

Reading comprehension indeed. 🙄

the whole shipwreck conceit kinda baffled me

MY OWN BODY?? Fuck no
If I have AIDS for ANY REASON, some assholes want to DENY me the proper meds because of..............
RELIGIOUS reasons??
WHAT THE FLYING FUCK!!
I must pay for something that I could object to that YOUR love in your life.
Do unto others as you would have done unto you ?? That bill is going to come due mother fuckers!!
Like............. your kid has a kid due you raping them?? I'm not paying a DIME!!!
You get every fucking bill. Education? EVERYTHING!! Don't ask for a single penny of federal funds!!!
Hell... no state funds either!!!
Thou shalt not fuck your own daughter!!

Clarence?? We are coming for your marriage eventually as soon as you move on everyone else's rights.
JUST your marriage !! Everyone else can marry who they want in Pursuit of their HAPPINESS

You received only a passing score for reading comprehension, because you left out body fluids, both liquids and gasses. You also have a redundancy problem because all organs are composed of tissues.

There's plenty of time and room for improvement before you graduate high school.

If you can get my local public library to send its meat truck, give me a heads-up so I can shower before they get here.

Condescension only works when one has the standing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But please continue to demonstrate that you are not able to conduct yourself intelligently in a discussion regarding the legal principals of bodily autonomy. I'm sure it will be entertaining.

The article says that questions about menstrual cycles have been in place for decades for health and safety purposes. The only thing new is that some districts have started using an online form. Concerns about school districts storing health records online are legitimate, but there’s nothing in the story that suggests the action was taken by partisan abortion activists. More likely it was intended to automate a manual paper process without sufficient consideration of healthcare records privacy concerns. How do you know which school districts have started using the form and what the party affiliation is of the administrators who have implemented it?

Keep rationalizing. Considering the crap going on in Texas, there is absolutely zero reason to believe that the irrational anti-abortion fanatics will seek to use that information against women. Especially given the similarities in government between Florida and Texas.

Ok. So you have no idea. Thanks for confirming.

Today, a 61% majority of U.S. adults say abortion should be legal in all or most cases, while 37% think abortion should be illegal in all or most cases. These views are relatively unchanged in the past few years. The latest Pew Research Center survey, conducted March 7 to 13, finds deep disagreement between – and within – the parties over abortion. In fact, the partisan divide on abortion is far wider than it was two decades ago.

https://www.businessinsider.com/us-almost-30-of-women-have-lost-access-abortions-report-2022-10

New data from the Guttmacher Institute, a leading research and policy organization committed to advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights, shows the impact of abortion care in 15 states across the USA.

In these states, there are 22 million women — 29% of all US women of reproductive age, defined as those aged between 15 and 49 — with virtually no abortion option in their state, says the report.

Of the 15 states considered in the analysis, 14 offer no abortion care.

The one that does, Georgia, bans abortion after six weeks, a point at which very few people even know they're pregnant.

The report also found that at least 66 abortion clinics have closed down across 15 states since the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
