The market for electric cars is slowly growing stronger.
Is it worth buying an electric car, since our administration eventually wants to ban all ICE vehicles and leave us stranded on the highway?

Also a tesla video.

How long do they take to charge? And what's the range before recharging?

I saw a thing on tiktok where a guy blew up his Tesla because it was going to cost $23k to install new batteries. But that's tiktok. Camgurl wannabes and men cooking meat. :)

This guy's channel was great, thanks!

It made me realize that, while I follow Politics to escape the mundane and small mindedness, too often Politics leave me angry.

We need more parody or comedy channels that present Politics to us in that way..
Unfortunately, the only ones that I know are so far Left, they risk falling over
.

I have subscribed to him and I kinda like his style, except the part where he is pushing his products(sponsors).

There's a piece on WAPO that poses the question, what if all of the vehicles in that 24 hour clusterfuck on I 95 had been electric?

Johnny you seem to have a problem with masculinity, penises and electric cards.

A bit of a weird hang up. It's just a car. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My uncle got a VW hatchback recently. Range is supposed to be 230 miles, but in 'normal' weather. If you turn on the heat it gobbles up power, the batteries are also less efficient at lower temps, so they're not going to be useful to cold parts of the world.

The UK is getting more public charging points that can recharge in around 30? minutes but a normal household supply is more like 6 - 10 hours. Uncle got a high wattage supply at home so it charges faster.

It was never going to be an either/or option for electric, just shifting the balance to burn less carbon. People will moan but it's a logical step. People moan and seldom because of sex.

I asked him if he was going to start paying family to charge his damned car at their house?

230 miles/charge makes good sense for a commuter vehicle that will be used daily or just driven about town, like a lot of autos are. I think EV owners should not rely on their family at their destination to recharge, unless there is compensation. Reliance on a charging network adds another bit into trip planning so it's akin to planning a flight in a private plane, with fuel stops, and alternates should there be issues with a charging station. Those issues should be less and less as EVs get to be in greater usage.

I recall in Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines, a character has invented a car that runs on natural gas, which he refills from public gas lamps.

COMPANION: The entire principle of this car is based on theft!

INVENTOR: That's not the point! It's very economical to run!

With supercharging stations in place, it will take less and less time to "fill up"

What I feel is that these cars should come equipped with some kind of solar panel to charge the battery. So they will stay fully charged while parked in the sun. It will definitely make more people shift and accept EVs.

I have an off-grid solar power system for my cabin and while the sun is dandy for supplying energy for the cabin, there's not enough there to even consider charging an E-snowmachine, much less, relying on it for a highway vehicle.

"In 2017, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that he pushed his Tesla engineers to look into integrating solar cells on Model 3, but they concluded that it wasn’t worth it at the time." roof
