How do you deal with ignoring lit folks?

I don't ignore anyone. I think I would miss out on a good deal of the fun, if I did - for me, a good old fashioned not giving a damn is so much more satisfying than "out of sight , out of mind" ignore.

I have one person right now on ignore and that is more because her post were hurting my head when I tried to read them. I love the fact it is so easy to do it however someone you have a hard time dealing with just click and the are gone but its still easy to read them if you wish to.

thanks for the art compliment - I feel like I'm finally able to draw, a bit... never could before. I'm a great at copying, but original stuff usually comes out.... well, like something your average 12 year old could do. <shrug, grin>

When you ignore someone, their post still shows as a name and space but it says "you are ignoring this poster. To view post click here" You just click on it and it will pop up in a seperate screen that you can close after reading.

the only person I thought about ignoring was highschoooljock, and he seems to have disappeared. Good old fashioned ignore worked, or else he just got bored around lit.

If you want to ignore someone just don't go where they are. I ignore nobody and sometimes it gets me into trouble but hey that is my middle name soooooo.

I don't like the idea of ignore myself but I have used it when the flaming started. I simply can't take the fighting. It starts the flashbacks again, so I avoid it. After the flaming settles down I cancil the ignore and just don't go back to the pages it was on.

I don't know how to ignore someone and I have never had to do it. Honestly, I feel that if you are having a problem with them take it private and tell them about it. If they continue, report them either to a moderator or to Laurel or Manu.

Maybe I have this process all wrong....but hopefully I'll never have to find out.

I'm not one to engage in confrontation either, but I certainly won't back down if it's brought directly to me. I choose to stay here at the Playground too, I can't handle all the backbiting over at the GB. I like to walk away with all of my ass in place too.

Thats how I feel too Arden... I usually just give them a smile or joke with them. I can fight in the r/l I don't come here to fight with anyone. I have gotten in some flaming wars only because I felt I had something to say most of the time I avoid them.

Ignore if necessary

I have one person on my ignore list, it doesn't matter much because they are not usually on the threads I am on. The only reason I did it, was because the person was on a thread I wanted to read and was totally disrespectful. I reported 20+ posts to moderators and then put the person on ignore.

I avoid the flame wars, if I can. I privately try to resolve issues. If things go public I always keep respect in there. If there is no respect from the other person I just report the post and most importantly SHUT UP. If I see other people responding I privately tell them to SHUT UP if they don't like the flames.

So anyways, that's what I do. It helps keep me out of trouble.

Mine was other.

I've only ignored one person who was spending a weekend going thru every thread he could and just posting nonsense to get his post count up. Irritating as hell, so I used the ignore feature. He is no longer on ignore, no one is.

I think it's a neat feature to have, but generally, I simply scroll on past.

I haven't needed to put anyone on ignore as yet but if someone was able to upset me that much I wouldn't hesitate to use it,no need to get upset if you can just ignore them instead. Also the kind of person likely to go on ignore tends to thrive on attention, the less attention they get, the less exciting it is to post. So if you really do'nt like someone, ignore them and they may just go away*L*

I was reading a post by honelick on the GB - I think it was very tongue in cheek - about flaming not being the thrill it once was, and how you get tired of it, and need a bigger kick... made me laugh.
