Bonus question how do you feel about circus peanuts?

Don't really like either but oddly enough, if they I set in front of me, I will eat some!

In small amounts. Thanks to LTR, I have gotten into those flavored candy corns too.

That is key. One at a time.

Have you ever noticed that a handful of popcorn taste a lot better than individual kernel? I'm not sure why that is. The opposite is true with candy corn.

Candy corn is an abomination unto the candy gods. It was created in humanity's huberis to test the restraint of parents who already knew they were sending their kids out to beg for food- to see if we would, in fact, beat someone's ass for trying to give that shit away for free.

All the candy corn in the world was created in a single batch in the 1950s, no one has ever eaten more than one to find out that they didn't like it, and the rest has been collected, repackaged, and redistributed ever since. If you give it to an adult, they'll at least have the sense to spit it into a sink, trashcan, or other spit receptacle. With a kid it goes right from mouth to floor, and they look at you as they instantly see through the ruse, wondering how a world could be so cruel as to call that waxy bullshit "candy".

This deception SHOULD be swiftly and efficiently punished, and the only reason that this product exists in the outside world at all, is because after that initial (and only) batch, the purpotraitor was banished from CandyLand. I've done all I can. It's out of my hands now. Stay vigilant out there.

The only other incident we had that resulted in banishment, that I can remember, dealt with fruitcake.

Stale marshmallows, flavored with some unidentifiable, artificial flavor.

It's not unidentifiable. It's watered-down orange or banana. Like... it's super obvious that that's the flavor. I smoke and I can identify it. Is your tongue coated or someshit?

The color is orange but you're crazy- there's not even a trace of orange flavor in them. I'm with you someone on banana if you mean fake banana flavor like a watered-down version of banana flavored Starburst.

The best I can describe it is fake banana with a little essence of cotton candy and a tiny bit of not very sweet cherry. I'm pretty sure the chemist that made up that particular artificial flavor was aiming for something entirely different.

There is the FAINTEST hint of citrus.

And, yeah, obviously fake banana flavor. Those things have never had anything resembling food anywhere near them. If someone eats a real fruit in the same building they have to throw out the whole batch.

What you're calling cotton candy is the sweetener, and I think that what you're calling cherry is the orange- fake cherry and fake orange have the same bite to them.

You know what? Let's open this discussion to shitty flavors in general. Green Apple is SHIT. The worst thing in the world is thinking that you're getting lime and getting that bullshit. To make REAL green apples palatable you have to stew them beyond recognition in some kind of sweetener- like to make apple fritters or pie or someshit.

Anyone who just picks up one of those fuckers and eats it has lost my trust forever. They're stone cold. They don't give a shit about themselves or anyone else.

There apparently exists a type of sweet green apple- they're tiny, like 1/3 the size of a regular apple, and my uncle grows them. He brings them to my house, and he says to me, "These are sweet."

And I say, "You can't fool me, old man, I've traveled this road. Maybe the kid, but not me. I've been jaded. I know better. I won't fall prey to your foolery."

Then I peel um, core um, and make fritters. Like someone who has some sense.

You know that old unanswerable question about how do we know that the blue you see is the same blue that I see? Taste is even far more subjective.

The whole thing about how we taste is pretty fascinating I don't know how they would derive the percentages but I've heard various numbers for the percentage of what we perceive as taste is actually smell because we're tasting with her olfactory receptors. The visuals matter too because unless you have your eyes closed the color of the thing influences what you think it tastes like.

Yeah, and I will take it a step further and admit that my pallet is fucked up. It takes me a LOT to taste something. People who don't season their meat fill me with a rage. If I wanted to taste nothing, I'd bite the inside of my jaw, you arrogant fucks.

My bf has this absolutely bullshit attitude about meat, where the good cuts of meat don't NEED seasoning. You wanna see a fucking fight. He eats that shit pink in the middle, too, like a dumbass who WANTS parasites. If I see a speck of red, I'm sending it back.

But it HAS to be me, and it has to be genetic, because my brothers do that to. Bust out the peppers and the spice cabinet. COOK MY FUCKING FOOD BEFORE YOU SERVE IT TO ME, AND COOK IT CORRECTLY.

My gf eats RICE and BREAD, like she'll just tear off a hunk of bread and fucking eat it. Like white bread. The first time she served me rice, in a bowl, like a fucking otaku, I had to get my ass up and walk to the kitchen to get the soy sauce my damn self because bitch was, no joke, gonna eat a bowl of fucking rice. Blew my damn mind. Life is too short to eat shitty food. She eats shit like potato salad, too, like... ugh, it makes me angry.

Conversely, they sat in amazement and anger, respectively, when I down two or three bags of pixi styx in a setting. The first time gf saw me do that we were actually all three in the same room. She tried to STOP me- told me that I was going to burn my tongue- bitch HOW? On SUGAR? Bf had to tell her that I did it all the time, that it was fun to watch.

I didn't get the point of the cinnamon challenge. I didn't know cinnamon burned. I'd eaten it like that, by the spoonfull, several times as a kid. I used to just go into the spice cabinet and eat the spices all the time. I did that with sugar too, to the point that it became a problem, so my granny hid it, and my dumb ass ate flour, thinking it was sugar, and threw a little-kid bitch fit about how the sugar was broken, and it became one of those cute family stories.

Point is, I concede that my pallet is completely fucked.

Edit: knowing how low my standards are- me, the guy who just eats sugar from the bag- should tell you just how bad candy corn is.

Edit: Also, on the visual thing- do you remember when I was a kid, like late 90s early 2000s and they made ketchup that was like, purple and blue and shit? Don't fucking do that, food companies. Candi don't play that. That's fucked right up.

There's nothing wrong with seasoning the heck out of a piece of steak I love crushed garlic and rosemary on a Mesquite grilled steak but you're absolutely wrong about cooking it anything past pink. If it's a good enough cut of meat I'll have it almost blue. I like it just when the texture starts to change.

If you're going to be a carnivore you got to get in there and eat a bloody steak.

Well enjoy your fucking worms and salmonella, I guess. While you're shitting yourself to death I'll hold your beer.

Yhall kill me with that shit. Cook your food.

BF has literally said to a waiter before, "Run it through a warm room" like... I'm not fucking you if you're puking your guts up later. This is on you. All yhall are crazy as fuck. Humanity invented fire for a reason.

I like the crunch of the carbonation. Again, if I want to taste chewy nothingness, I can bite my tongue.

I'm not a carnivore- because I don't want my organs to fail while I die of scurvy. Humans aren't MEANT to be carnivores- I'll never understand this weird obsession- this is another weird guy stereotype- about eating meat or needing to eat meat, or loving the shit out of steak and bacon. You get MORE protein from plant sources, AND factory farms pump that shit full of estrogen. I'm not saying not to have a vice, I've got a cigarette in one hand and a phone in the other- I'm just saying I don't understand now, nor have I ever understood the weird gender connotation. That might not be a thing everywhere, but it is here.

Like I'm not a vegan. I'll eat meat. I've eaten a lot of meat today alone, because I ate out like 3 times (just... had a long day, didn't get to come home). But like... there's no connotation to that. I got hungry (or the 3rd time I wasn't even hungry but I had someone with me that was) so I ate. It's weird. The meat culture, especially for guys, where I'm from is weird.

Here's a little known fact about me- I was a vegetarian for like 3 years. You can't be a fucking vegeterain. Like it's not possible. Because every goddamn thing every goddamn person wants you to do involves meat. I didn't realize that until I tried to quit. But like... EVERYTHING revolves around meat and eating. Even things that you wouldn't think would. I don't know how people do it. People show up at your house with meat way more frequently than I realized before I quit eating it.
