Depends on what you're doing... The gag doesn't have to stay there the whole time! Maybe just while you're doing unspeakable -- but not explicitly sexual -- things to her.

Also, there are ring gags and such which have a neat effect.

My least favorite experience with a gag was with one that had a hole in it to allow my Dom to pour in liquid, which I had to drink or drown, basically. He used straight cranberry juice. Drunk trough a rubber 'straw', that stuff is even more nasty than it usually is.

No to gags for me. They definately interfere with my breathing too much. Would end up hyperventilating after it was taken out. A bit may be a different story, but I couldn't do with all the saliva.

I have a strong preference not to be gagged. Fortunately Mistress prefers unmuffled sounds/begging , access to the mouth, and generally speaking, doesn't find a drooling submissive erotic.

If She did employ the use of a gag it would more than likely be in punishment, or when She was feeling particularly evil.

As an alternative of sorts, She will sometimes disallow responding naturally, in kissing, licking, sucking, etc., but order me to keep my lips still and shut, until I have begged, ached and squirmed sufficently to be allowed to do so.

I have never used a gag, but the idea scares me a little. It certainly makes it harder to use a safeword, though I am aware there are other signals that one can use. I think for me it is another level that I have not quite reached.

Every since I saw Pulp Fiction I've HATED the idea of a ball gag.

yeah, it really depends on what kind of gag we're talking about here. if it's some sort of soft cloth dealy then i'm fine, and while i've never tried anything like a ball gag, i can just foresee my face dripping with drool and turning red from the lack of oxygen (my nose is SO stuffy in the winters, i don't think i could rely on it like a professional)

I REALLY don't like gags. It has nothing to do with safety, 'cause I've never used a safeword with B and can't imagine it ever being necessary at this point, he knows me so well, nor does it have to do with any other physical consideration. To me it is the ultimate humiliation, and not in a good way, like an outward symbol that I have displeased B. B sometimes makes me wear one if he feels I have been whiny or smart alecky, etc. I especially hate wearing one in public, and usually just the threat of it makes me really take his disapproval seriously.

For some reason there is some psychological connection for me between gags and shame...

If you do an elastic band with a bit gag she can still swallow and bite down on the gag when she needs it. Unless you are a droll freak. Then use rope

I have an extremely strong gag reflex... I don't do well with stationary objects in my mouth. I also tend to have a stuffy nose due to seasonal allergies. It would be very hard to breathe. Gags are close to a hard limit for me.

My subs do not have a problem with gags. But then they have little choice. I do not think I have ever accepted a sub with a hard limit for gags.

I hate those dental openers. No dentist I've ever been to has been able to understand that once it's in my mouth, I can't breathe. They keep saying "breath through your nose." Duh, as if I didn't already. Ball gags do the same thing, hence the hyperventalating afterwards.

Is it a hard limit? No, but something that needs to be worked on. I don't mind having something in my mouth, but there's a limit as to how wide it can be opened.

I'm surprised at the answers, honestly. I like gags a lot, and it's almost a necessity for me to be gagged during a session...it's just that great for me = ) Just not for long periods of time that might hurt my mouth too much...

I hated them for quite some time, however, with constant use and the positive reinforcements with the gag I learned to love my ball gag. But it did not happen overnight It did take some conditioning with both parties involved. Now it is practically impossible for me to go without one.....and a safe gesture(s), but it is not necessary for me to enjoy myself. I can remember having some of the same reactions as others. I get stuffy and I cant breath and I have a very easy gag reflex...starting small sometimes helps..<hops off her soap box>

Some of the answers I've seen have been pretty positive to gags, and some have not. Some people can't be gagged (or greatly gagged) due to medical reasons. It's not overwhemlingly for or against in my opinion.

To clarify my pov, I don't have a problem with gags. I actually do enjoy having something in my mouth. I just can not have my mouth opened to the size of a ball gag or a dental opener because that would tighten my windpipe, therefore making it impossible for me to breathe.

It's been this way for me as long as I can remember, even if I have my head leaned back. It feels like my windpipe is being crushed.

For some of us it's not a matter of learning to love ball gags. It seems to me that the aversions to the gags aren't the small ones where the mouth isn't really restricted, but the big ones.
