Simply put, there are gardeners here on Lit, as well as hobbyists who make their own wine, beer, tinctures, essential oils, and spirits. I’d like to see what those of you who do so, have done so, or want to give it a try have to say about it here. :)

I'll begin this: I've raised vegetable gardens in the past and plan to get back into that this spring. I've also brewed beer, but on that, it was with store-bought brew kits. I've watched kimchi being made but I haven't made it and I've visited distilleries and observed whiskey being made.

I've made some simple concord wine from concentrated concord grape mix but never from scratch so I'd like to try that. I'd also like to try distilling some really small amounts of 'shine but while that's commonly done it is something that can generate a bit of trouble.

This year, hopefully it will. Be ferment. I have a buddy, who wants honeybees, but lacks the land. I have the land, but am allergic. Still, it will be great to have bee hives, not just for the honey, and the pollination, but also I hope to put up at least 3 barrels of mead this fall.

I've known a couple of guys who were into mead making but I've never tried it. Good luck to you on that and if you get a chance post something later about what you're doing along those lines. :)

Brewer here 👋

I've been brewing beer since I was a kid with my dad.

Also a gardener 👋👋👋

I grow a lot of different food here at home and in local demonstration gardens that we donate. I just planted an orchard last year so we're gonna have an abundance of fruit in years to come. If I'm planting anything in my garden, it's food producing. It's amazing how pretty gardens can be with a little imagination and a shit ton of hard work.

I also grow 🪴
