Do you ever wonder why you open threads started by certain people?

You open the thread, and there it is, another stupid assed comment by the same old tired asshole whose ego is almost as big as his head.

You see that the same people have again flocked to his thread to post and tell him how wonderful he is.

You promise yourself that you will never open another one of his threads, but you do it every damn time you come to Literotica.

Why?

You must resist!!:D

But, alas, you can't.

Some people's threads just demand to be opened.

It's an addiction.

reminds me of good ol' Sparky. where the hell did he get off to?

well suck me sideways, he's really toned down! (;))

what changed? used to be you couldn't loiter around the BB w/o seeing at least a half dozen mindless threads by that bugger, no matter the time of day.

Most often I open certain threads because I enjoy a certain author and her/his take on different situations.

Other times it's because I recognize that the author is kind and loving to animals, and I usually find the thread topic interesting.

Then there are just times when I'm bored enough to see what type of disagreeable nonsense a certain author wants to stir up. These are the times that I kick myself and promise not to fall for it again in the future.

I opened this thread for the second reason I noted. It's another wonderful picture of your Teddy bear! Thanks for posting it!:D

Yeah, I know exectly what you're talking about because I do it too. Maybe we all need villians to help us define who we are by villifying what we don't want to be. Shit. I'm getting too heavy for this hour of day.

some threads I see the name and have to open them
some thread I see the title and have to open them even though i see the name and say.... oh nonononono not that person again.

there really isn't anyone on the board i feel that strongly about.

besides, even if i don't want to join the discussion, it's always nice to know what other people are talking about :)

lol or if your paranoid like me.... Just to make sure they arn't talking 'about' you :)

one habit I've learned to break

Teacher--

There are folks whose threads I open and almost am never disappointed by the topic. There are other posters whose views and tastes simply don't jive with mine. Unless the title is a departure from their norm, I don't open the thread.

Everybody isn't everybody's cup of tea. Some folks are never going to enjoy me know matter if I joke or get down right silly. We don't share the same sense of humor. Thank goodness there's something for everybody here.

BTW, I read all your posts. :)

Peace,

daughter

Um... just because I can. Because I hold the power of opening that thread in the click of a mouse that is cradled in my hand. Because I have the power to be enlightened, or infuriated by what he/she says.

Dillinger, who's been my mentor here at Lit for some time, mentioned to me when I was being the highstrung, impish fool that I always am, that Literotica was not meant to be taken so hard. It's a place where inhibitions are lifted, and there is no wrong answer, no stupid question. I don't always have the constraint that Dill possesses to be "dimplomatic" in my approaches, but I know that I'll be taking things lightly, because life is too short to pussyfoot around, and too cramped to take anything said on here with more than a grain of salt.

Well said.

I don't open many threads. Mainly because they are mostly repeats of old ones and if I didn't care the first time around....

I DO open threads that are topical or controversial. If someone wants to talk about a trial, the war, fashion, etc....I'm usually there.

Talking about relationships and how we love is only therapy for the person writing it, not for the reader. I already have a grip on "how" I love and my relationships and have no need to talk about SO's or Oprah-like topics. That's why although I respect the intellectual reasoning someone like daughter brings to the board, I don't read her threads. Ever.

Along with that, many people skip the AskACumSlut thread because they find it too intellectual, not intellectual enough, brimming with disgusting pictures, not funny, etc....and that's their choice.

This is a board full of interesting people, to each her own.

I forgot about this thread...

Good one Rick, first good laugh of the day.

When I posted this it was right after reading something stupid written by someone who always writes something stupid. So I thought who was the bigger idiot, he or me? I'm the one who opened it and read it.

There are just a few, a small handful, of people that I feel this way about. They are are male. I think they are all about 15 or 16, or at least very immature. They remind me of Beavis and Butthead.

Pussy, he hee he heee.
Cock, hee he hee hee.

Grow up!

I don't avoid his posts. I like what he has to say. Like KM he says what he thinks. I respect that.

I open most threads and read them. I read fast and am lucky that I can.
Most threads are of interest to me. Personally there are very few people here that bore me or who's opinions/life views or updates/questions/polls etc that make me think, "pass". And not even read what they have to say.

Everyday I look forward to learning something new. Wether it be here at Lit or in r/l.

I may not always agree with what people have to say but their opinions are important to me.
