and look up into the sky on a clear day, see the contrails of the planes there, and dream you were on one of them? And if you do, where would you be going?

I for sure do that often, and my dreams take me all over the world to visit the places I've been wanting to visit for years. One of the places I would like to go it Australia and New Zealand, I can't explain why, it's just and urge I have.

Addition:

I also often think about going to see the great friends I've made on-line, mostly in the states, as I will do when I go to Georgia this fall. Even though I've met a few people so far that I've met on-line, I'm still amazed at how friendships can form over these great distances! Thank you for the internet that's what I say!!

You made me think of the days of Ham Radios, and how exotic it was to hear Morse Code or sometimes even *gasp* an actual voice come crackling from half a world away. The Planet seemed a lot bigger then, and all you Europeans were dressed in your quaint little tradional clothes with the suspenders and short pants and hats with the feathers in them. The Internet is amazing, but what a disappointment to discover that you're all just jeans and sweater wearing pervs like us.

yes on a fall afternoon....laying in a pile of leaves watching the clouds:)

That wasn't generally europeans wearing that outfit DCL!! It was only some Germans and Austrians!!! :p

you remind me of my sister................... she is so devoted, as it seems that you are.

The Night Sky

I always look forward to the time when I can get out of the city and head out for some camping in clean air.

One time that always sticks in my mind is walking back from the nearest village to my tent in the middle of nowhere, at the side of a fast running stream. It was around 1 in the morning, and the road was deserted, with no street lights, cars, or anything.

All you could hear were the sounds of the night (you all know what I mean) and the sky was cloudless.

Every single star seemed to be twice as birght that night, and the band of the Milky Way was glowing.

And the moon had two aircraft contrails cutting through it like a claw mark.

I leaned back and looked up out of the tent all night at that view...

Dianno one thing I also miss about living in the city is to be able to watch the stars. That's why I often make a point out of doing it when I visit my moms during the late fall and winter time. On a clear night I walk out in their garden, lean my head back, and stargaze for quite a while. It so much better to watch stars there that's for sure!
