Anon feedback I received on my new story:

"Perfect length (of a story). Just sufficient to finish a banana. "

*giggles*

What do you eat when you're reading?

I was shoving Lay's new cheddar and sour cream chips in my face when I saw this....now there are crumbs all over.

If it's online, yes or I smoke. If it's a book, normally no, godforbid I get something on the pages then the book becomes marred for life and it's just tragic.

*nods*

There's nothing like smudgy chocolate fingerprints on the pages of a book to make me feel all piggish and stuff.

Mostly I smoke and drink tea while reading (sans tea on the bus). My books all have intermittent pages with my fingerprints in red (lipstick that gets on 'em while smoking).

Ah, Pear, we need to meet in the city for tea and cigarettes one of these days.

I'm more lip gloss than lipstick. My new fave is this latte flavored gloss someone gave me as a gift. Yummy.

I look forward to it. (Lip gloss only magnifies all the wrinklies for me.)

That's the first thing I do. You have to, otherwise, how do you get the book to lay flat while you eat and read at the same time?

Oh, and I always eat and read at the same time. In fact I almost never read, online or book, without chomping on something, or at least drinking something. All my books have at least a few stains on them and my keyboard is always full of crumbs. (except the new cordless one, cuz that one's to expensive to destroy)

Personally, I prefer to have a strong, handsome gentleman hold the book and turn the pages for me, but, alas, sometimes I have to make do all on my own. Sigh.

I'm now having horrible visions of China and Perdita reading cracked paperbacks, dogearred and having a tomato slice dropping to their lap from some past read page that has cigarette burns and lipstick on them.

I prefer hardcover books actually. :p And NO cigarette burns in my books!

The only way to truly love a book is carnally. It should be messy, perverse, potentially injurious, and utterly wholehearted.

One or two of my particular favorites I did eventually have to buy bound in leather because I kept loving them to pieces.

I will eat anything and everything while reading. I do most of my reading and writing in a tilted-back recliner with the laptop on a sliver-thin lap desk laid across the arms. I have little table next to it - just by the bookshelves - for the express purpose of holding any snacks I drag in with me. I particularly like very good chocolate, good cheese with crackers and olives and proscuitto, or now and then a glass of port.

Brilliant, Shanglan.

Last night I treated myself to a 187ml bottle of Piper-Heidsieck Champagne. That's my alternative to tea and ciggs whilst reading. The book and I became aroused simultaneously and then went to bed.

I don't think they were actually eating the banananananana (I know how to spell it, I just don't know when to stop)

I must be a freak, to me they are sacred objects that are to be treated with reverence since they contain my literary friends. When I finish a book it's like I say goodbye to them until I can go back and visit, I hate to think of them living in the slums...lol.

I guess the common thing we have is that our books are loved and cherished in different ways , like the people in our lives.

She didn't say that she was eating the banana, just that she finished it!

When I'm reading literotica stories I need at least one hand free, thank you very much!

Otherwise, I don't usually eat anything when reading books. Too messy.
