c did. She scored 800 on her verbal SATs and was the daughter of a preacher and had 4 years at a bible college. She had no reason to lie or make things up. I was with her for 18 months and have so many stories. Most are her stories. The only thing I saw with my own eyes was her cat obviously seeing something unseen in the corner of the room.

I've seen ghosts

My husband's mother visited me once, and told me to stop being so mean to him. And I had to confront something that lived in this house when we moved in. Apparently there had been a murder on the sidewalk outside my son's room. (Hmmm. There's a story there. Maybe I should write it.)

The house that I grew up in was most definitely haunted. Odd things would happen frequently. The recessed ceiling panels in the kitchen all fell to the floor one night (they were actually set into a metal track, and would have to be physically removed) The oddest thing happened when I was about 12. I saw a woman in a white nightgown in my room- she appeared to be looking at my alarm clock. I thought it was my mother at first. The next morning, I woke up, and part of the clock was missing. I asked my mother why she was in my room looking at my clock, and wanted to know what happenend to missing part (it was the door to the battery chamber, and the battery). It wasn't my mother (I still get chills from this). Several weeks later, we were getting ready for company. We opened the pull out couch, and inside the couch was the battery and the door to the battery chamber for my alarm clock. So, yes, I definitely believe in ghosts.

Her apartments were built on an old plantation near Nashville. James was buried there around 1820 and frequently visited c. It was like he knew she sensed him. He would walk outside or sit on her porch. Sometimes he'd come in. When he saw her packing up to move, he pitched a fit. Turning lights and the computer on and off.

weird stuff

I personally have no mileage with ghosts, in the "seeing or talking to" capacity. I've never felt I could access dead relatives or pets the "watching over me" thing - I've never felt it.

But people I know and believe in have. I'll take their experiences as valid, and assume the other side has nothing to say to me of import yet.

Aye, I do believe in ghosts.

My old school (which is a very old building, by the way) have ghosts living there and I have heard so many stories from my friends, who, even now, still stand by them AND I believe I have seen one or two ghosts!

I also believe that my flat does have a ghost living here, as during the night, I keep feeling some noise i.e. doors banging right in the room, and some stuff keeps moving around, even when I knew I didn't move them!

*shrugs* as long as they don't touch me or try to harm me, I am fine with living with a ghost! And I am sure, they would have enjoyed watching me playing....... in the bedroom........or in the bathroom..... ;)

Wow!

That would be wild.

I have never seen a ghost myself, only sensed a presence from time to time over my life.

My family lived about a hundred yards from where Susan Eubanks had killed her children. In fact, its possible my mother-in-law was the last person to see the kids alive.

That said after moving in, between my wife and I, we had several experiences. The first time for me I was outside along our gravel driveway. The sound of someone walking along right up and continuing on past me was very evident. But it was a bright day, I certainly didn't see anyone. Not long after that, my wife made the comment that on several occasion she woke to hearing our kids out of bed playing in the house. On checking on them, they were sound asleep. I encountered this myself once as well.

The house had been purposely burned by the fire department, but for 3 years I saw the foundation and thought about the kids and the fact that they never left the hillside. It was and still is a dreadful shame.

The description of atheist I identify as doesn't really believe in any higher or lower power, god or not, nor do I believe in an afterlife or any further existence after this one. So, I don't believe in ghosts.

yes , i understand that. my point was that some people who believe in god don't believe in an afterlife and a lot of people who believe in ghosts don't believe in god.

If they believe in ghosts they are probably agnostic which is different than atheist.

Exactly!

A lot of times I end up arguing someone out of their self identity of Atheist based on their beliefs. "You're Agnostic, not an Atheist."
