Last night I had a dream about a Strawberry Shortcakeisc gal with piranha teeth driving around in a cherry red Monster Truck (which she call the 'muffinmobile').
She was driving over a herd of cars stuck in traffic until she finally crash-landed on the batmobile. Batman started giving her the 'Boston howdy' and she offered to drive him to the crime scene he had been racing to before she totaled his car. Instead she just handcuffed him to the rollbar of her truck and drove off. (The word 'BWAHAHA!' literally sprouted from her mouth)

This is the fifth Lit inspired dream I've had in the last week or so, this is odd as I normally can't remember my dreams at all but these are incredibly vivid and 'real' in a cartoonish sort of way. Am I loosing it?

Damn, I wish I could edit the title of this thread. I just know people are coming here looking for an intelligent post on the meaning of dreams but.. but.. they should know better. I mean, I started it!

i had a dream i dated a girl from lit once.....no not BA either haha

*hates beer and kaluha*

You know, I can usually remember my dreams. The scary part is that some of them has actually come true.
I dunno why, but it's ususally when I dream something bad will happen to me, it usually does.
Kinda a drag.

I took a psychology class, (yeah just one, so what.... no I am not a psychologist, get off my back) and I believe I have an answer.
Your mind is thinking constantly every day. Our minds records them all, and makes mental notes of them. Even though we do forget some things, others our mind can't specifically forget.
anyway, enough pointless babble, on to analyzation...
Your dream is just a dumping ground for the past days occurances. Some of them are visions, like Xander said, some have deep meanings, but most of them is where the brain sends crap that it doesn't want to deal with anymore, call it the computer recycling bin if you will. It transfers the files, and then, while you are asleep...
WHOOOOOSH
well, ok that was a toilet, but you get the idea. The actually meaning of it is pointless, it is just something that happened to you that the mind is trying to dump, for whatever reason.
My advice, well there is none really. Do what you normally do. Your mind often picks certain things out of the day and places them in your dream, maybe so you can remember maybe so you can forget (wasn't that a song, oh yeah the Eagles.
some dance remember....
some dance to forget....). Its just a thing, that happens, perfectly normal.

You might want to go to a freudian psychiatrist with that one though. They would have some great you want to kill your mother/father stories that could tie it all up.
Your mom symbolize by a strawberry shortcake, taking away all of your dreams, crushing them like so many cars under a monster truck, and ruining your life.
And you dad, who is a hero to you (batman???) comes in and tries to save you, but mom stops him. So mother "ties" him up so you can no longer have the love you once did.
Wow, hey that works too, either one, take your pick, lol.

Let's see...this is really gross, but I'll see if anyone can come up with an analysis for this one...I have my own.

I dreamt that a male and a female I know (who I still can't place, I just know I know them) were having sex in this huge bed. I walked in and got super pissed off. He left the room running (apparently, he knew me well enough to know my temper) and I started kicking her ass. All of a sudden, I looked down and there was blood on my hands, blood leaking out of the mattress. I pulled all the covers off the bed, and I could see a face outlined in the mattress. I started feverishly ripping the mattress cover away, and uncovered a bloody dead body. For some reason, my mother ended up in the room, then my daughter came running in...

That was it, I woke up, couldn't catch my breath for like 10 minutes and I was so freaked out...

Go ahead...analyze away...

Time to get back on the meds Never? LOL

Everybody has strange dreams Never. Recurring dreams are usualy of more significance than weird ones.

I had a dream that I still remember vividly due to its weirdness.

I was in the main concourse of our local airport, the floor of which had been painted like a chessboard. I was wearing British Officers dress circa the Napoleonic wars and was faced off against a number of similarly dressed persons in blue uniforms (mine being red). No matter how hard I tried to move around "the board" one of them always managed to take a thin fillet out of the exterior part of my calve muscle with his sword.

Explain that! I think some times your brain/sub-concious just goes on these flights of fancy to relax. I dont think its anything to worry about.

Actually your dream was somehow reminiscent of that awful King novel "The Regulators" and i'm not sure why.

Dreams or what the hell

I tend to agree with poohlive, to a point. Yeah your brain doesn't just go into a coma like state just because you're asleep, but dreams are more than just neutrons in your brain firing away. I think this quote from the Internation Institute of Dream Research (whoever they are) sums it up nicely: Dreams, yours and mine, are the mental forums where we, as individuals, deal with the concerns and conflicts of everyday life. Often these concerns arise as a result in living in groups, or societies.

That stated, perhaps those of you with unusual dreams could pick key points in those dreams, and in figuring out what they're supposed to represent, could then understand what your unconcious is trying to resolve in the dream. Damn, that sounds a lot more pompus than I mean it to.

In college I had a class about dream research, and though I remember next to nothing about it, I do remember my dream journal and several of the more unusual dreams I had during that time. In one I was a penguin somewhere in Antartica standing in a sea of other penguins. I remember looking around and realizing that nothing distinguished any of us from each other, and that if someone I cared about came looking for me, they would be unable to pick me out. In a panic, I looked up and saw the expanse of baby blue sky and cotton ball cumulus clouds above my head, and thought maybe being alike isn't such a bad thing. At the time I thought I was telling myself that I need to rebel and force myself to be more of an individual, but now I see it differently. Perhaps what I was really thinking was that even though I was a non-traditional student, I did share something with these young freshman I was surrounded with everyday. A desire to be a part of something and "fit in" was just as important to them as it was to me.
Well, enough of my psycho babble...

The three main theories on dreaming and what we dream are:

1) Ways of handling stress. Reflections of our lives and what goes on in our mind... again, often in forms that are difficult to interpret.
2) Predictions/Premonitions ... sometimes hidden in forms that are difficult to interpret. (Eg: someone is trying to tell you something, etc. )
3) Fantasies/Desires

Of course, I think that it is a combination of all three.
We all (in my humble opinion) have our own degrees of psychic ability (and other such things associated with the paranormal), and every so often, someone has got to have a deja vu or at least something, anything happen in real life that they have seen somewhere before.
I had a dream come true once.
If anyone wants to know about it I am willing to share, but only if DCL doesn't think I am crazy and make fun of me! ;)

I have certainly had dreams that refleced my stress, but also had dreams that where my desires unfolded realistically before my eyes (and then ... of course, the alarm goes off! haha).

Also, you can combine these and add to them. For example what of those dreams where ghosts, etc. come to you and help you with something, etc. etc. etc.? Endless possibilities.

And then,

What about nightmares?

A complete off topic note. But ))))))))JADE(((((((((((
You've been missed girl. :)
Good to see you're back :D

Never, stop reading Muffin's posts, and you'll be fine!

I've had dreams that come true later. It's really weird. I've also had a recurring dream that lasted for about a month. Almost every night I dreamed that a man was chasing me, trying to kill me. I could never see his face, but when I woke up, I knew who it was. Most of the time I dream weird shit or I can't remember anything.

Aw!
Thanks Xanman.
I missed you too!
I am just EXTREMELY busy!
I am taking 5 classes and one of them is completely ridiculously time consuming... to the point where, if it was the ONLY class I was in, I would STILL be busy!

I do believe I owe your "wife to be" an email. Tell her I will work on that okay?

OOOOoooo I like this dream of yours Never

Batman...

DCL handcuffed to the rollbar of my truck...

Keep dreaming Never!!!!! I gotta know what happens next!!! I want details, full 36-bit true color 21" monitor details. Pictures of DCL too if ya got him. I heard he was nekkid in them. I have some melatonin stuff around here somewhere if you need help getting back to sleep. Damn your dreams are better than mine. I dreamt about sleeping with Ted Nugent only he kept insisting his name was Roger and I was Bing Crosby. He told me to pet the rabbit while he sang WangoTango. I like your dreams better, so get dreaming young lady and thats an order!
