I thought women remembered every single one of their sexual partners. I wasn't demoralized, but it was interesting to see this.

Sometimes. But a question- did you by any chance hurt her in some way? She wouldn't be the first woman to pretend not to know a former boyfriend/lover because she's still got a grudge.

There's a difference between someone who requests you as a friend on facebook and the guy you run into in the parking lot. Especially if there might be more than one J.R. she's known in her life. As you didn't bump into her face to face, she might need a refresher.

Then again, there is the question of what state she was in when you were face-to-face. There are guys she might want to forget, or might have been in a state not to remember (like was she self-medicating herself at the time?). And I'm not altogether sure most women who engaged in a quickie late at night in the alley behind a bar would recall exactly the gent they were with for those fifteen minutes, at least not by name

I think women have a reputation for better memories of their sexual relationships only because historically, women didn't have that many lovers and usually spent more time with them in a sober state and in well lit areas. But modern times have changed that, so maybe ladies are catching up with the guys in not remembering all their paramours.

I can see this. I definitely don't look exactly like I use to 20 years ago. And my facebook picture is small. I can guarantee though that I've had sex with way more women than she's had with men. I'd recognize her name in a heartbeat. Then again there are some women I wouldn't recognize their name either.

Depends on the woman. I can't say I've slept with only a few guys in my life, but even so I remember who they all were and would recognize their name even if I didn't recognize the pic.
