I remember when "pre-washed" jeans were introduced. Before that, a brand new pair of levi's could hurt you for a while. I think all jeans have some softening before they're loaded on the truck nowadays.

I thought it was a little odd that soon the norm would be faded or "pre-worn" jeans. I guess people don't have the time or patience to wear them in, or out, myself, I like new jeans to look new. Whatever.

Then they introduced jeans with holes in the knees and rips and tears for those who don't want to wait. I like to wear a pair of jeans until they almost fall off my ass, so I can look in my closet if that's the look I'm going for.

Today I was at the mall and I see that they have a line of 'pre-soiled' jeans for the kids that want the filthy look, but are too lazy to dirty them up themselves. LOL!

What the fuck is next?

A little alliteration...

Pre-pooped Pampers.

From my wife to the trash???

What about all those shiny denim products Levi's have had to pull off the market.

I have some shiny denim jeans, but they're not Levi's.

I feel so trendy. :(

What did they have to pull off the market, and why?

Last week there was a story on the news here that Levis (I think) had to pull a new line of jeans because of some health fear, the jeans had a coating on the fibres (some kind of varnish actually) to make the denim shiny and when you did something to them they became unsafe.

Sorry thats all I can remember.

Next: Pre-eaten food. Open package, dump in toilet, flush. Saves you all sorts of time.

Levis Withdraws Jeans in Europe After Skin Problems
STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - Jeans maker Levi Strauss said on Wednesday it was withdrawing its ``Glossy Finish'' jeans, shirts and jackets launched in Europe early this month after two employees who had been handling the garments experienced mild skin irritations.

``Steps have already been taken to remove all garments with this finish from the shelves,'' Levi Strauss said in a statement.

It said it had not received any complaints from customers.

``Laboratory tests showed that when the garments are being exposed to high temperature, for instance when ironing, fumes causing breathing difficulties may arise,'' Levi Strauss said.

It said the withdrawal applied to a limited number of jeans, jeans jackets and jeans shirts and that its glossy finish products represented less than one percent of the total volume of Levi's products on the market.

San Francisco-based privately-owned Levi Strauss & Co is one of the world's leading apparel makers. It said the current product withdrawal was its first ever in Europe.

UUGGGGHHH!!! I have a "new" clothing story. I went to the mall a few weeks back and you can't even go near Meier and Frank right now...the clothing in the Junior's dept. is heavily dyed this year and uses some sort of process where you get a STRONG oil/petroleum scent. It's all you can smell on the first floor and it gives you an instant headache. The sad thing is you can't wash that out of clothes. I bought a shirt once that I liked and figured you wash it, the smell would disappear...kind of like sizing. It didn't...I eventually threw the shirt away.

On a side note...you can buy a product from the Rit Dye company that will fade your jeans quickly in the washing machine, if that's the look your going for.

I see people all the time at the bagel store asking for the bagel to be "scooped out." Guess what folks, they do it with their hands and it's gross. I want a bagel, but first can you dig your nails around in it. . .
