Do redheads...

do redheaded women get men commenting on their hair a lot in their daily lives?

And, yes we do. Not just from men, but men, women, children....
I've had various shades of red hair over the years and it always seemed like at work, that's how people would identify me. I actually had a male customer refer to me as "the redhead with the big boobs," to my boss.

Conversation with a co-worker

Me: Hey, Diane.
Her: "Hi, honey." <she rustles by me and then turns around> "I love your hair."
Me: "Oh...thank you!"
Her: "Do you dye it?"
Me: "Nope. Natural color."
Her: "...Bitch." :D

Of course, it's not really red. And it's not really blonde. It's not even ginger. It's more like strawberry-blonde, maybe. My hair color is an orphan among reds.

My wife has wonderful auburn hair, but I think she gets more comments from other women than from men.

My sister has pure copper-red hair. I'll have to ask her sometime.

I have to say I had a lot more men flirt with me before I dyed mine black. Hubby still wishes I'd go back to my natural Auburn. Trouble is, it's more gray than red, now.

LOL, I have the same problem. It has taken me years to find a combination that gives me almost exactly my natural shade. But, shhhhhh, its a secret.;)

I had some random woman start picking at my hair from behind me while I was walking down the strip in Vegas a couple of years ago. Apparently red hair is good luck in the casinos and she told my husband that he had to have me right next to him whenever he played the tables or the slots so he'd keep winning.
Um...SO? Did it work? Did she win?

And if she did...can we talk you into coming with us to Vegas? :D

I have to agree - definitely more comments from women (and gay guys) than from (straight) men. I dated a guy with a preference for redheads once, but he never really talked about it.

I get a lot of comments from both men and women about my hair. Think Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman for color and curl, only about 8 inches shorter. I get more comments because of my eyes, one green and one brown. Try finding clothes to match that color combination!

I used to have to roll all my FIL's dice at the craps table. He won every damned time. I don't know if it was my hair, my way with dice, or just blind luck... probably the latter... but hey, it's fun to think about the former. ;)

Mine's a light coppery auburn, which I've hennaed a few times because red hair tends to turn tan in the winter, left to its own devices. Comments from men are very rare. What I do get is old ladies commenting on how beautiful my hair is and how theirs was just like it when they were young.

Irish? Yes, Witch!

No, actually, it's much, much older than that. It's the old Christian belief that Judas was a redhead--and association with red hair and demons, like Lilith  It's not that folk still believe this, they just carry that age old prejudice of association: red hair = bad.

It's like associating the color black with badness.

No! I'm NOT! Irish! I have 3 quarters Inglish, but my hottest & proudest quarter is Scottish! They suspected any read head with blue or particularly green eyes a witch! Yes, I am a Wiccan and NO! A witch isnot a bad thing if he/she follows the reed and the Threefold law! Quesla

Fried fry as a kid, ginger cinnamon buttered toast as an old lady!

Yes, with a couple of friends who are redheads, I get pissed when men's heads turn to look at them.

There are drawbacks mind. Buying clothes is a nightmare because so few colors match pale skin and a carrot top. Then, there's a problem in the sun cos of the pigmentation and needing sunoil SF Zillion to avoid looking like an overcooked beetroot.

That said, they do draw a crowd, all waiflike and sexy. Hate them:D

Yeah, I agree; It's a drag as a pre-teen when I got third degree burns on my shoulders and arms! Now I look like speckled ginger & cinnamon buttered toast when I worship the lord of the south, my greatest JOY!, the Summer! If I had my way the wheather would always be between 30 &40 degrees celcius and we would all run around in the sand and surf in bikini bathing suits and speedos! Quesla
