Do readers not know about birth control?

I write a lot of group sex scenes. I always get the commenters saying, “and when she gets pregnant she won’t know who the father is.” Do these people not realize that you don’t get pregnant every time you have sex and that women have a choice of several methods of birth control to prevent pregnancy

Those commenters are looking to punish the loose women they are reading about.

"The immoral sluts will get what they deserve for sleeping around outside the bonds of holy matrimony. And that cuck deserves to raise another man's child because he isn't man enough to take control of that hussy."

I'll give good odds they are men. There's a certain type who like promiscuous men but hate promiscuous women. The idea of free spirited women is anathema to them.

As a reader, I prefer stories where birth control is in effect, but only the types that allow bareback, unfettered sex, multiple encounters, etc. Somehow, a story where the guy wears a condom does not appeal, or where she has an IUD, etc. Yes that is probably shallow or misogynism, or something.

Actually, since I had a vasectomy many years ago that is the first thing that comes to my mind. Or, she had her tubes tied. Also, do not enjoy stories where the coupling results in a pregnancy. I am for the depictions of pure sex for sake of the sex.

This. And if the story did establish that she was taking birth control and pregnancy wasn't a possibility, they'd be ranting about STDs or about how no man is going to want her afterwards and her vagina will be ruined by overuse.

Oh, I think I had the same commentators stop by to give me some love as well.

Heaven forfend a woman actually be in touch and control with her desires.

I would venture to say there are very, very few women who don't practice some sort of birth control, whether with one man or several. Most women are also very conscious of STD's. While it makes a good fantasy to find a woman who doesn't care about either, I think they are unicorns. The woman has the most to lose if she becomes pregnant. She also has a higher risk from STD's because it's sometimes difficult to tell if she's contracted something because women often do not have visible symptoms with some of the common STD's.

I usually allude to some form of birth control in my stories because it's a natural question that any responsible man would ask. Sometimes it's just the old "rhythm" method, but that worked pretty well for hundreds of years.

As far as a woman being ruined from too much sex, it's difficult to believe that no matter how much sex she has, a man would stretch her more than having a child. Women seem to shrink back to normal after childbirth, at least in my limited experience they do. Perhaps I've just never met one that didn't.

Don't be blind to the possibility that LitE is being trolled by the same special interests that seek to regulate women's reproductive health including making contraceptives illegal. When I encounter these kind of comments in response to my stories, I give them a week or two to simmer (in case "they" check) and then the comment goes bye-bye.

My experience is somewhat the opposite. When I was dating around (in the last century), it was always apparent to me that a partner had given birth. Frankly, intercourse was more comfortable for both of us in those instances, and rowdy sex was much more enjoyable. YMMV, of course.

Strangely few guys take oral contraceptives. Even fewer have IUDs (like IEDs but smaller). They are generally simple souls and don’t always understand that much about the wider world.

Certain story categories attract Incels like flies to sticky paper...

I've been writing about strong "loose women" since I started writing erotica and I've never gotten these kinds of comments...

You're quite correct, it's nonsense, but it's a popular nonsense with some folk to claim that being promiscuous will stretch a woman out. (For some reason, having lots of sex with her husband doesn't do this.)

File in that great big folder labelled "dudes who think their dicks are magic wands".

It took me a while to realise people were talking about vaginas returning to their original size. Bellies tend not to shrink back after childbirth nearly so easily...

It's weird. I write sexual fantasies. Porn. Because of this I ignore birth control entirely. Never had a single complaint.

I've written a few group sex and gangbang scenes and never had a comment like that. My stories occasionally do include reference to birth control, if I'm aiming for more realism.

But my April Fool's story did coincidentally riff on the point made in that comment. A bisexual woman in a lesbian relationship got pregnant by repeatedly fucking three guys over a long weekend when she and her girlfriend had calculated she was at peak fertility. They were in an open relationship and she'd always had occasional flings with men during their years together and the two of them chose these three guys. The goal was to intentionally not know which of the guys was actually the father. It's in Fetish (not because of the train, it was around her surfeit of breast milk and finding a new male lover who enjoyed suckling the excess milk). Zero comments on the story, so apparently no one complaining.

I have a related question. Does reference to the morning after/emergency contraception offend readers with... political sensibilities?

The overwhelming majority of these "anonymous", baby carrot sporting, basement dwelling, keyboard warriors, just want SOMETHING to bitch about, no matter the story.

Let me guess: Loving Wives?

Several of my stories feature mentions of birth control; Several more feature condom use.

I've never had a reader bat an eye.

The one thing I don't understand about the zealots you describe in LW is the fact that they are outraged by extramarital affairs, yet completely fine with all the sex among family members in I/T? One would think THAT would be the thing the average reader would be outraged about... People are just weird
