Allow me tell some stories to the three of you. May take time.

First, I just needed breakfast today.

I got my first job in the 80s working at a famous chain known for its breakfasts.

I was still in school and washed dishes over the weekend.

By 5 am, the best line cooks and waitresses were in. It was a completely different feel. I was still very young.

The head cook came in my first morning to get some plates. He said to me,

Ever want to fuck an ostrich?

I said nothing.

He continues, I love when they stick their head in the ground and wiggle their ass.

I didn’t know how to respond. Times were different.

But we are a product of everything we’ve ever known.

A few years later I started working in the industry I am in now.

It is very male dominated. Especially in the early 90s.

We got an hour lunch and there were guys who would go to the local bar for lunch. I guess that was okay.

It’s not.

The thing is that I was again exposed to things I really hadn’t been before.

I remember a conversation as a guy got something out of vending machine.

Another guy, you have pretty strong wrists

Vending machine guy, yeah, I know.

Other guy, and it ain’t from playing tennis if you know what I mean.



I get it. The guy is jerking off.

As time goes by, we all adjust to the people and personalities.

Certainly, over the years, what’s acceptable to say has changed. The perception had to be adjusted. The entire workplace has had a facelift.

I have done my part to make the workplace less male dominated. To be more inclusive. To limit the crazy which comes out of people’s mouth.

Not mine.

I’m famous for the crazy.

But I find more and more people who started before my time are feeling out of touch.

The younger generations are pretty sensitive.

I’m getting older.

I feel it.

The past couple of months I’ve been experiencing a sharp pain in my elbow. I figure it will eventually go away like most of my pains.

I’ve been waiting.

But we are a self diagnosing culture. Mostly because we have a broken health care system. It’s expensive and doesn’t help much.

I am in absolutely no prescriptions. No Rx. At all.

I’m not sure many people my age can say that.

Good or bad? I’m not sure.

WebMD is the doctor many go to. Because everybody I know is a hypochondriac. With poor health care.

We put off any real care until it’s too late. And part of that is the culture from going to the bar at lunch.

Be patient as I am writing all this while walking around getting disturbed by people looking for guidance on a spiritual level. I did not proofread.


I search sharp pain in elbow.

A few things come up. Mostly, though, tennis elbow.

Whatever the fuck that is.

I thought about it last night as I felt that sharp pain which caused me take to make a noise.


I said to myself, tennis elbow and it’s not from playing tennis. If you know what I mean?

I’ll assume there is a Glenn making breakfast for senior citizens all over the country. It’s a special breed.

For what it’s worth, webmd is like band aid to me. I search, but put little value in it.
