Distance Domination-Support Thread

I have a quick question for the group. There is this online D that I have been RPing with for the last several years. And by RPing, I mean both of us playing different characters and interacting the scene through several IMs of text. Recently, however, he has made several overtones of removing the characters from the situation so that it's just him Domming me.

I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I know I play well, and I'm wondering if that's more of the situation that it's more like him wanting to actually dominate my characters rather then me.

So, my question is this: has anyone successfully made the leap from RP scenes to online scenes? Does it work? I'm interested, in attempting it if we can get the communication issues out of the way first. I appreciate all responses.

My ex and I met on a forum for a TV show of all places and we were doing an online RP of the TV show. So when we started communicating off forum we started with what his character would like to do to mine etc. Somewhere along the line it all got blurred and became just us, no characters. There wasn't a specific switch at any point it just happened.

I don't know if that helps at all, I guess what I'm trying to say is that if it feels natural and right then you should go for it. Characters tend to be extensions of our own personalities any way so it shouldn't be that big a leap.

My RL friends are being supportive but I feel that there are a few of them nodding their heads knowlingly and saying "I can't understand why she's in such a mess, it was never a real relationship anyway".

I feel pretty alone in this. But that's me, that's how I deal with things, by shutting myself away - pushing other people away from me - wonderfully healthy I know!! I even feel bad about this post - it may get edited at some point !!

My heart goes out to Strawberry I know how she feels... I recently got my heart broken as well and it is difficult It has been a week today for me and I talked to him once cause of my mom he emailed me once only platonic things though and Strawberry HANG in there girl I am sure it will get better. ONLY with time... If you need anything id be glad to be here for you... and no matter weather it is ONLINE or R/L it hurts....
