Local human interest story that someone sent me:

:(

When the title said "cooking in a box" I thought the family was literally lighting a fire and cooking their meals in a scrap-metal container (think "hobo stove") because they didn't have fuel or power to cook their food any other way. I thought that, because I've known some who did.

Those campers don't breath at all. They're not built for or meant to be lived in full-time, especially not without AC. Not as bad as living in a car, I guess, but you might be better off in a bamboo hut or a surplus army tent.

I have no air conditioning at all at my house. But I'm healthy, acclimated to it, and single. I don't like to imagine children ending up in a situation like this, especially if they're going straight into summer with it being a completely new experience for them. I don't have to imagine it because I've far too often seen it.

(And, to stave off all the usual comments from all the usual suspects, this kind of thing started being a problem long before Trump and/or Biden. When it first started being a problem, Trump was still growing his bone spurs and Biden was still defending segregation.)
