Native Alien said:well now here i am waiting to play and everyone else leaves....
BlueDaisy said:Sorry NA. I'm not in a playing mood today. I'm reading threads to keep my mind occupied, but playing is out for now.
I got a very disturbing email from my sister this morning. Her husband's parents are missing and are presumed to have been abducted. They were last seen leaving church Wed. night (they attend the same church my sister and her husband attend). Sat. morning a neighbor of her in-laws called my sister's house to mention that she had not seen them, and they had not picked up their newspaper on Thursday, Friday or Saturday. They did not show up at a friend's house as planned on Friday and didn't call to cancel, which is not normal for them to do.
Their car was found Wed. night and impounded. Turns out a cop had seen it speeding or something and followed it. The driver stopped and took off running, leaving the engine going. The cops of course didn't know anything about the owners being missing.
There has been no sign of foul play, no blood anywhere. A window was broken in their bedroom but nothing is amiss in the house.
I've known these people just about all my life, so I'm pretty torn up today. If you folks would, please keep them and my family in your prayer/good thoughts, whatever you feel comfortable with. It is not looking good. They have not been seen for 5 days now.

Bash
BlueDaisy said:Thanks, everyone. I do appreciate the thoughts and prayers. Yes, the hard part is the not knowing. I want to just....I don't know what. You never think of something like this happening to your family. It is something that you hear about on the news. Now I know what the families of missing people go through. Like that pregnant woman in California. And the case we had here recently (her burned body was eventually found and her husband charged with her murder).
What hurts is that SOMEone out there knows where they are and what their condition is. And if they have been harmed, there would have been absolutely no reason to hurt them. They are in their 70's for God's sake! Harmless. Very sweet people. If someone had wanted their car, they would have let them have it rather than trying to fight for it. If it was money, same thing.
Thanks for letting me unload.

bashfull said:Darlin, UNLOAD! I know a little of what you are going through. Several yeas ago, I received a phone call a work, in the middle of a meeting, that my son was missing from his sitter's. Amazing how much praying one can do while speeding down the road. We're here for a hon, even if you just want to scream and unload.

BlueDaisy said:You can't tell us a partial story like that, Bash, without giving us the outcome! What happened to your son?
And thanks...I may take you up on that offer to unload very "loudly" here.
By the way, I didn't know you had kids.
bashfull said:Turns out he was in the bathroom and too embarrassed to tell anyone he wet his pants (was just starting to potty train himself). Never had a greater weight been lifted from these shoulders.
BlueDaisy said:I agree, mayi. you do "sound" down. anything any of us can do?
mayi said:hugs and kisses for both of you...........blue and bash
