Dildo Question for the Ladies
How does it feel? I mean they seem to go to great lengths (pun intended) to make dildos look like the real thing and I was just wondering how close they feel to the real thing? on a 1 - 10 scale 10 being "it feels the same" and 1 being "not even close."

My wife has a few and when we use them during foreplay she sure looks like she is enjoying her self but I was just curious what other women thought. Also what size do you prefer? real life size, smaller or larger?

I'd give them a 5. They're kinda cold.

As for size, I'd consider it pretty pointless to get a dildo that's the same length as my hubby or smaller. All of our dildos are bigger than he is.

I thought the same thing, TBKahuna. If that isn't a smoking gun, don't know what is.

I see about zero point to dildos.

If it doesn't vibrate - well, why the hell would you get it.

Dildos don't experience performance anxiety. Nor do they have trouble staying hard because of health problems and poor lifestyle choices that they choose not to address. They also don't require ego stroking or believe that they're god's gift to women just because they exist. When I'm done with them, I put them in a box and forget about them

In short, dildos aren't attached to men, and things, for me, are better that way.

**edit--Dildos don't lie about their size, either.

Oh, I have vibrators as well. :)

For my hubby and me, there were certain things that we wanted to, um, experience and our attempts at finding a third participant didn't quite pan out as we'd hoped (for the reasons I mentioned above).

**Before anyone sends PM's offering up "assistance," we're NOT looking--either now or in the future.

We have dildos and vibrators so both are an option. I know the advantage and attraction to the vibrator for my wife but I am not sure how "real to life" the dildos feel for her or for other women for that matter.
We have one a little smaller than me, one about the same size and 2 bigger and we have used all of them. We use them before intercourse so I guess what I want to know is if the dildos allow my wife to enjoy intercourse longer or is it a different feeling and a different experience.

I actually figured that size did matter and that is why we have three different sizes. :)
Thank you for your help and responses.

Ditto. I like toys and vibes, but dildos don't do a thing for me.

I don't have dildos (the desire's not there), but I would say, no, they wouldn't allow me to enjoy intercourse longer. They might cause good feelings, but a significant part of pleasure from sex for me comes from the fact that the cock's attached to a real, live person who can feel, touch, respond, move certain ways, pulse, get more excited, etc. So, a piece of glass/plastic/silicone/whatever might feel good, but it's never going to feel like sex to me because I KNOW it's not attached to a person. A strap-on might feel more realistic, but even that's not going to be a likeness of sex.

I used my vibrator today. I don't that often by myself, mostly with my boyfriend. But he's away for a bit . So I got it out, and put on some Mr Bungle. It was pretty great. The vibration doesn't really do that much for me, more the feel of it inside me while I'm rubbing myself. (It didn't take me long today, it's been a couple of days so I went beserk.)

As for the question of how lifelike it is (I know you said dildo, but here's my perspective on this): as I said, I like the feeling of it inside me. It doesn't feel real, it feels cold and hard. But it sure does the job when he's not here. Even better in someways.

Thank you for the great perspective. I had originally wanted to know if the dildo felt realistic or not and it had not occured to me that it's not the actual dildo but the sexual act without your partner that may make the difference.

They don't feel realistic at all to me. When I'm masturbating by myself if I insert a dildo, it somehow stretches the skin around my clit just enough so that I touch it differently with my vibe and have more powerful orgasms. That's all its good for. Plus, it vibrates when I want it to. What more could I ask for? :D

now thats a hot visual!

For me, nothing can even come close to the feel of a real cock.
But I agree, that a dildo inserted while masturbating definetly gives better orgasms.
We also have 3 different sizes,( 2 vibrators, 1 dildo) but the largest one is only slightly larger than my husbands cock, because I don't want anything filling me up better than he can.

I'm gonna have to agree with some of the others in that a vibe is not a replacement for the real thing. The warm, firm, velvetty goodness knows no equal. Vibes are nice, don't get me wrong, but the real deal is better.

Interesting, when I got the go ahead to get the toys I bought four dildos (we already had the vibrators) one is kind of small because I had read that you have better "control" with the smaller one about its about 1.25" diameter. The second was called a "Jr Dong" and is about the same size as I am about 1.5 - 1.75" diameter. And the last two turned out to be the exact same just in different colors and they are larger about 2" diameter.
My wife has never expressed a preference although we have used all of them and seem to use the Jr the most because its bigger than the small one and the other two seem a little big to me, although she has never said that when we were playing with them.
When playing with a dildo do you prefer to use them as a substitute (the Jr Dong) or as a different experience and then maybe bigger is better? :)

Dildos

My wife has a couple and she doesn't enjoy them at all.
She preffers my dick.
They are too unnatural !!

I prefer a dick as well, but I enjoy my dildos. I've found that they have their uses. My hubby's all about the visual aspect, and if that makes him happy, then I'm happy.

I'm not using a dildo as a substitute for PIV sex, though, so I don't worry about how impersonal it feels.
