The wife and I have been thinking for a while that we would love to aquire a digital camera...both so that we can document the progress for the little one once she/he enters the world, and for...other reasons :)

However, there are literally a _TON_ of different cameras out there, and it's really kinda hard to make an intelligent decision with all the hype. Plus the fact that alot of them cost much more than we can afford (not more than $200), sorta limits us.

So, we'd like to solict the opinions of Lit users who use or have used digital cameras, and find out what ya'll think.

Let the games begin! ;-)

Sony cybershot you can look on ebay you need to get one that is at least a 3.3 pix or better

Fuji Fine Pix 2650........costs about 200 maybe a little less on sale....Great Camera and recommended. Its a 2 million pixel deal with 3x zoom.....and takes movies too( no sound), but its a great cam at a fair price.

No you dont need a 3 million pixel camera.....the 2 million pixel cams do 8 x 10's great and dont cost as much. Plus the file sizes are smaller.............

I'm sure they are even using it for just pictures to email, and or upload and could even do with a 1 million pixel cam really......but 2 million will do all that and get you an 8x10 if you ever needed one.

I have seen the sony on ebay for under 200 and they do mini movies with sound. The one I have is a mpegmovieex and its great and easy to use. I was looking on ebay for extras and watched one go for $100 it is worth about $450

I have a fuji fine pix 2600 and I think I paid $275 for it. It's a 2.0 mega (million) pixel camera also with zoom. The download program to the computer is also very easy to use, and I think it takes very good pictures.

That is the biggest thing find something that is easy to use.
