I don’t know where three numbers come from. I have X followers but y favorites? If I download my stats none match that. Where do these numbers come from?

In your control panel, 'favourites' are authors you've liked, and 'followers' are people that have favourited you.I don’t understand. I’m obviously not bright. If I go to an authors page and press the ‘add to favorites‘ button. Am I following them or making them a favorite. I thought that was following. But If that’s making them a favorite, how do I follow them?
I think you have it mixed up a bit.In your control panel, 'favourites' are authors you've liked, and 'followers' are people that have favourited you.

You are correct that clicking the button 'add to favorites' will add the author to your following list. Why that button says 'add to favorites' requires more calculus than I've taken. You can also follow an author by clicking on that 'person +' icon next to the author's name on the story page.I don’t understand. I’m obviously not bright. There's a reason everyone dropped calculus....requires more calculus than I've taken.

On an author's profile or stories page, the "Add to Favorite" button allows you to "follow" that author.
If you click on their "Favorites" tab, you can see who they are following and what their favorite stories are.

I generally do this on the Story page. At the bottom of the story there is an "Add Story to Favorites" button. If you press that, then the story will be added to the Favorite Stories list on your Member / Favorites Page and to your Control Panel / Favorites Page. Plus, the author will be notified that you favorited their story. If I go to an authors page and press the ‘add to favorites‘ button. Am I following them or making them a favorite. No disagreement from me. That is where the confusion exists. That's just an inconsistency in nomenclature. There's no such thing as "favoriting" an author as opposed to "following" an author. It's the same thing.
I hope this clears it up once and for all:So, still confused here. …. I’m not asking the question right. I know where I see people started following me and people favorited my stories., but
here is the new favorites page. On the upper right hand side It lists followed authors and the favorite authors.

on the new favorites page it says I have 9000+ followers. Are Those people clicked the add to favorites button on my profile page?
then I have been favorited by 22,000+ people. where does that number come from? Those people favorited one of my stories?
Thank you. That clears it upI hope this clears it up once and for all:
The Followed authors list consists of those who have followed you, which also includes those who have added you to their personal author favorites list. In this case, favorites and followers are exactly the same thing.
The Favoritest authors list is the list of authors ranked by the total number of favorites for all their stories.
The favorite stories list is the list of individual stories by the number of times they've been favorited.
The column on the far right is the sum of bookmarks (to read later) and favorites. The column to the left of that one is favorites only. Now to add to the confusion. If you download your stats there is a column called ‘reading lists’ and one called ‘in reading lists’ where do those numbers come from?
