Ok, everyone. Fess up! How many of you overspent your Christmas gift budget this year and are now facing a mountain of credit card bills in January?

(This is for you, Never!) Christmas is only 11 1/2 months away. Start saving now to have the needed cash on hand for your 2001 gifts! Goal: no credit cards in 2001!

*This has been your first public service announcement of 2001*

I paid cash. Don't like having a balance due on my credit cards.

Same here. Cash only for the gifts. I already have an ugly credit card debt. Don't need to add to it. Yes, Cheyenne, we are paying extra to get rid of the bills. And I even was able to get the interest rate on my credit card reduced! Yay! LOL

Either everyone here is very frugal and paid cash for everything, or a lot aren't fessing up. I can't be that scary with my fiscal policy rants, can I?

no, i came up with that same system 2 yrs ago. If I can't pay cash, you don't get a gift. It's that simple.

I always pay cash, and I shop all year long.

Why is there so much month left at the end of the money

Cash , Cash and now no cash . No didn't use credit cards I hate getting bill's from them . I allways put off paying them back so now I only use them for emergencies .

Yep, Cheyenne, I spent more than I had planned on spending but I must say that it was an all cash Christmas here. :)

Now, the folks who charged everything are my kinda people. January is always good for the mortgage industry...folks refinance to pay off their X'mas debt. :D

Oh god, did I over spend or what. First I spent Four hundred pounds on my wifes presents, then I treated myself to a brand new computer, that cost me fifteen hundred pounds. All of this on my credit card, help!!

It will take me a year just to clear it up, thank god christmas only comes once a year.

Pounds, as in sterling, I keep forgetting you lot think dollars are the only currency on this planet.lol

Carl.

As Betty and Whilma once famously quoted "CHARGE IT" However, I use the card so I don't have to carry cash, and pay it when it comes in.

eh?
For some reason the credit card companies don't seem to offer me their cards... *sniffle*
Damn it, they can't deny me 'buy what you can afford now, pay what you can't afford later with interest'! I'm an American!

As for overspending my Christmas budget.. what the heck is a budget?

The best things in life are free,
But you can keep them for the birds and the bees..

Never! Finally you're here! No charge cards, huh? That's good. Makes it hard to over spend if your're spending cash. Unless you did your magic checkbook trick again. ;)

WOOHOO I am too damn young for a credit card (19 years old) so it was straight cash or check. As for overspending trust me you can never spend too much on women because the return is always worth the overtime. HEHE

Never had a credit card and never will. I pay everything with cash. Christmas is all paid up and now I am working on a list for next year. I hate last minute shopping so this is the only way I am going to get it done in time.

I don't thing I ever left Cheyenne.. I've just been curled up in the back of the board in a drunkin' stupor.

My checkbook is made of rubber.. I'll just grit my teeth and pay a couple twenty-five doller fees. It's the holiday season - I'm giving 'til it hurts, okay?

oh, mama, does it hurt..

Ouch- paying fees on purpose for bounced checks hurts my soul!

No credit cards for christmas gifts here. And Yes we did over spend on christmas gifts. For the kids mostly, me and wizzie always pay cash for christmas gifts. We refuse to pay those damn intrest rates on credit cards. And of course we over spent had a plan, but did we stick to it NO!
we never do. Oh well, I am so glad we only have to do this once a year.
