I've found that most people create attack alts to protect the reputation of their usual IDs (miles/xanophil, beco/faneros) etc.

Vetty/JBJ makes sense because Vetty bellowed loud and long that he wasn't a racist, and JBJ was the flip side, an unrepentant racist who just happened to be approximately the same age as vetty.

Also, to maintain two distinct posting styles for this length of time would seem to require more writing talent than either one has shown. Look how easily Ken "Karen" Kraft's alts were always sussed out.
