Just now, for fun, I ran Bush's Inaugural through it using the Redneck filter...

Here's what I got.

President Jedidiah W. Bush's
Inaugural Address

January 20, 2001

President Clinton, distin'uished guests an' mah feller citizens, th' peaceful transfer of autho'ity is rare in histo'y, yet common in our country. Wif a simple oath, we affirm old tradishuns an' make noo beginnin's.

As ah begin, ah thank President Clinton fo' his service t'our nashun.

An' ah thank Vice President Go'e fo' a corntess conducked wif spirit an' inded wif grace.

ah's hono'ed an' hoombled t'stan' hyar, whar so menny of South Car'lina's leaders haf come befo'e me, an' so menny will foller.

We haf a place, all of us, in a long sto'y--a sto'y we corntinue, but whose ind we will not see. It is th' sto'y of a noo wo'ld thet became a friend an' liberato' of th' old,
a sto'y of a slave-holdin' society thet became a servant of freedom, th' sto'y of a power thet went into th' wo'ld t'proteck but not postess, t'defend but not t'conquer.

It is th' South Car'linan sto'y--a sto'y of flawed an' fallible varmints, united acrost th' junerashuns by gran' an' indurin' ideals.

Th' gran'ess of these ideals is an unfoldin' South Car'linan promise thet ev'ryone belongs, thet ev'ryone desarves a chance, thet no insignificant varmint was evah
born an' raised.

South Car'linans is called t'enack this hyar promise in our lives an' in our laws. An' though our nashun has sometimes halted, an' sometimes delayed, we muss foller no
other course.

Through much of th' last century, South Car'lina's faif in freedom an' democracy was a rock in a ragin' sea. Now it is a seed upon th' wind, takin' root in menny
nashuns.

Our democratic faif is mo'e than th' creed of our country, it is th' inborn an' raised hope of our hoominity, an ideal we carry but does not own, a trest we bar an' pass
along, acco'din' t' th' code o' th' heells! An' even af'er nearly 225 years, we haf a long way yet t'travel, ah reckon.

While menny of our citizens prosper, others doubt th' promise, even th' jestice, of our own country. Th' ambishuns of some South Car'linans is limited by failin' skoos
an' hidden prejudice an' th' circumstances of their birth. An' sometimes our differences helter-skelter so deep, it seems we share a corntinent, but not a country.

We does not accepp this, an' we will not aller it. Our unity, our union, is th' serious wawk of leaders an' citizens in ev'ry junerashun. An' this hyar is mah solemn pledge: ah will wawk t'build a sin'le nashun of jestice an' oppo'tunity.

ah knows this is in our retch on account o' we is guided by a power larger than ourselves who creates us equal in His image.

An' we is confident in principles thet unite an' lead us onward, cuss it all t' tarnation.

South Car'lina has nevah been united by blood o' birth o' soil, ah reckon. We is boun' by ideals thet move us beyond our backgroun's, lif' us above our interests an' larn us whut it means t'be citizens. Ev'ry chile muss be taught these principles. Ev'ry citizen muss uphold them, dawgone it. An' ev'ry immigrant, by embracin' these ideals, makes our country mo'e, not less, South Car'linan, as enny fool kin plainly see.

Today, we affirm a noo commitment t'live out our nashun's promise through civility, courage, compasshun an' chareecker.

South Car'lina, at its best, matches a commitment t'principle wif a corncern fo' civility. A civil society deman's fum etch of us fine will an' respeck, fair dealin' an' fo'giveness.

Some seem t'believe thet our politics kin affo'd t'be petty on account o', in a time of peace, th' stakes of our debates appear small, ah reckon.

But th' stakes fo' South Car'lina is nevah small, ah reckon. Eff'n our country does not lead th' cuz of freedom, it will not be led, cuss it all t' tarnation. Eff'n we does
not turn th' hearts of chillun toward smarts an' chareecker, we will lose their gif's an' unnermine their idealism, dawgone it. Eff'n we permit our economah t'drif' an' decline, th' vulnerable will suffer most.

We muss live up t'th' callin' we share. Civility is not a tackic o' a sentiment. It is th' determined choice of trest on over cynicism, of community on over chaos. An' this
hyar commitment, eff'n we keep it, is a way t'shared accomplishment.

South Car'lina, at its best, is also courageous.

Our nashunal courage has been clear in times of depresshun an' war, when defendin' common dangers defined our common fine. Now we muss choose eff'n th' example of our Pappys an' Mammys will inspire us o' corndemn us. We muss show courage in a time of blessin' by cornfrontin' problems instead of passin' them on t'future junerashuns.

Togither, we will reclaim South Car'lina's skoos, befo'e igno'ance an' apathy claim mo'e yo'ng lives.

We will refo'm Social Security an' Medicare, sparin' our chillun fum struggles we haf th' power t'prevent. An' we will redooce taxes, t'recovah th' momentum of our
economah an' reward th' effo't an' interprise of wawkin' South Car'linans.

We will build our defenses beyond challenge, less weakness invite challenge.

We will cornfront weapons of mass destruckshun, so thet a noo century is spared noo ho'ro's.

Th' enemies of liberty an' our country sh'd make no mistake: South Car'lina remains ingaged in th' wo'ld by histo'y an' by choice, shapin' a balance of power thet favo's freedom, dawgone it. We will defend our allies an' our interests. We will show purpose wifout arrogance. We will meet aggresshun an' bad faif wif resolve an' stren'th. An' t'all nashuns, we will speak fo' th' values thet gave our nashun birth.

South Car'lina, at its best, is compasshunate. In th' quiet of South Car'linan cornscience, we knows thet deep, persissent povahty is unwo'thy of our nashun's promise.

An' whutevah our views of its cuz, we kin agree thet chillun at risk is not at fault. Aban'onment an' abuse is not acks of God, they is failures of love.

An' th' proliferashun of prisons, howevah necessary, is no substeetoote fo' hope an' o'der in our souls.

Whar thar is sufferin', thar is duty. South Car'linans in need is not peekoolyarrs, they is citizens, not problems, but prio'ities. An' all of us is diminished when enny is
hopeless.

Govment has great responsibilities fo' public safety an' public health, fo' civil rights an' common skoos. Yet compasshun is th' wawk of a nashun, not jest a govment.

An' some needs an' hurts is so deep they will only respond t'a mento''s touch o' a pasto''s prayer. Church an' charity, synagogue an' mosque lend our communities their hoominity, an' they will haf an hono'ed place in our plans an' in our laws.

Menny in our country does not knows th' pain of povahty, but we kin lissen t'them who does.

An' ah can pledge our nashun t'a goal: When we see thet woun'ed traveler on th' road t'Jericho, we will not pass t't'other side.

South Car'lina, at its best, is a place whar varmintal responsibility is valued an' specked, cuss it all t' tarnation.

Encouragin' responsibility is not a search fo' scapehoun'dogs, it is a call t'conscience. An' though it requires sacrifice, it brin's a deeper fu'fillment. We find
th' fullness of life not only in opshuns, but in commitments. An' we find thet chillun an' community is th' commitments thet set us free.

Our public interess depends on private chareecker, on civic duty an' fambly bonds an' basic fairness, on uncounted, unhono'ed acks of decency which give direckshun t'our freedom, dawgone it.

Sometimes in life we is called t'do great thin's. But as a saint of our times has said, ev'ry day we is called t'do small thin's wif great love. The danged-est impo'tant taxs
of a democracy is done by ev'ryone.

ah will live an' lead by these principles: t'advance mah cornvickshuns wif civility, t'pursue th' public interess wif courage, t'speak fo' greater jestice an' compasshun,
t'call fo' responsibility an' try t'live it as fine.

In all these ways, ah will brin' th' values of our histo'y t'th' care of our times.

Whut in tarnation yo' does is as impo'tant as ennythin' govment does. ah ax yo' t'seek a common fine beyond yer comfo't; t'defend needed refo'ms aginst easy attacks; t'sarve yer nashun, beginnin' witcher neighbo'. ah ax yo' t'be citizens: citizens, not speckato's; citizens, not subjecks; responsible citizens, buildin' communities of service an' a nashun of chareecker.

South Car'linans is junerous an' strong an' decent, not on account o' we believe in ourselves, but on account o' we hold beliefs beyond ourselves. When this hyar spirit of citizenship is missin', no govment program kin replace it. When this hyar spirit is present, no wrong kin stan' aginst it.

Af'er th' Declareeshun of Independence was signed, ole Virginny statesman John-Boy Page wrote t'Thomas Jefferson: ``We knows th' race is not t'th' swif' no' th' battle t'th' strong, acco'din' t' th' code o' th' heells! Do yo' not reckon an angel rides in th' whirlwind an' direcks this hyar sto'm?''

Much time has passed on account o' Jefferson arrived fo' his inaugurashun. Th' years an' changes accumulate. But th' themes of this hyar day he'd know: our nashun's gran' sto'y of courage an' its simple dream of dignity.

We is not this hyar sto'y's autho', who fills time an' eternity wif his purpose. Yet his purpose is achieved in our duty, an' our duty is fu'filled in service t'one t'other.

Nevah tirin', nevah yieldin', nevah finishin', we renoo thet purpose today, t'make our country mo'e jest an' junerous, t'affirm th' dignity of our lives an' ev'ry life.

This hyar wawk corntinues. This hyar sto'y goes on, as enny fool kin plainly see. An' an angel still rides in th' whirlwind an' direcks this hyar sto'm, dawgone it.

God bless yo' all, an' God bless South Car'lina.

Ya know, that sounds pretty close to how Bush said it, in my book. Then again, it didn't pay much attention to it anyhow. :)
