I had my groceries delivered on Wednesday. So nice to have 'new' food! I think I'm going to put myself on a grocery budget soon. First I need to stock up on the things I use a lot so that I can buy when it's on sale.

Glad to hear you have that service. :) I hear you about stocking up. I do that myself. But it is nice to have some fresh veges and fruit. Bananas don't keep too long. :)

I've been using the service for more than ten years. I do go to the grocery store to get fresh veggies and look around. I love my fresh fruits and veggies and try to get something different all the time. I rediscovered cauliflower recently when I was looking for something different. Two weeks ago I had acorn squash. Hadn't had that in a long time. It was delicious. Someone sent me an email that said to separate the bananas and they'll keep longer. That works. When they get to the ripeness that I like, I put them in the fridge and they'll last another three or four days, but you're right you can't stock up on bananas like you do oranges.

Thought I come & say Hi :kiss::rose::kiss:

Good afternoon {{{{DGO}}}} :kiss:

Mmm, yes acorn squash is wonderful. Nodding yes a friend of mine in the food industry told me to separate them and they would keep longer. It does work. I believe like most fruits when they ripen they give of ethylene gas and that triggers even more ripening. Bananas need a "shot" of that to get them to ripen at all.
I remember one time when I bought some really, really green ones thinking they'd last a long time. Well they did. They didn't ripen. He was the one who told me why. I could have taken another piece of fruit and put it next to them to get them started. I returned them to the store. Now, I know.

Have a super Sunday. :)

The green bananas happened to me two weeks ago. I let the store know and they'll refund my money. I added a note to my order not to send any more green bananas. When the weather is nice I go to the store the week between my delivery. Tuesday it will be bananas, more fresh broccoli and maybe some Brussels sprouts. I don't order these, because I like to pick them to make sure they're all about the same size. I'm going to roast them!

Good Monday afternoon {{{{{DGO}}}}
As long as the money is refunded. Still that is a pain that you didn't have any then.

Sounds like a plan for you tomorrow. Hoping the weather gets even nicer for your trip to the store.

Have a marvelous day. :)

Sorry to hear you don't have the shining sun. We have it now, but we also had ice fog again this morning. It is pretty on the branches of trees and bushes but can be nasty on walkways, and bridges. It is all gone now.

I went out to the gym to exercise this morning. Then had some stuff I had to do regarding a credit card charge that was incorrect.

Getting a bit of posting in now. :)

We had a frozen fog warning a few days ago. Today it was just a heavy fog warning. I always liked the mysterious look of fog.

Just what is frozen fog? Up here we have all kinds of weather but that's one I've never heard.

Oh and hello all. :)

Hi Cathleen ~ So nice to see you. When there is lots of moisture in the air and the temps get to freezing it will freeze on things like branches and trees, which looks really pretty. Of course the bad thing is it will freeze to roads, bridges and overpasses, not so good.

Hope you are doing well. :)

Leave it to an engineer to explain things fully. ;)
