... that today is the birthday of the Boll Weevil Monument? In 1919, the people of Enterprise, Alabama, dedicated the world's largest monument to an insect. The monument consists of a statue of a lady wearing a flowing white gown, arms stretched above her head to display a big black boll weevil. Trivia fans: the lady originally held a fountain, not a bug!

Actually a nice day here today. Was sunny and made 30 degrees. Of course that isn't going to last. Temps are already dropping and my temp may get below zero by morning. It is then said to warm up over the weekend. Of course that means more moisture...

It happens like that here. The church is only 9 blocks away, so if it gets bad, I'll sit on the ice and use my hands to propel myself forward!
