Did you know...

... that today is the birthday of Charles Edward Ringling (1863)? Charles was one of the Ringling brothers, who owned the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. He was in charge of production. Celebrate his birthday today by bringing a smile to someone's face!

 


Back in the 1929 Financial Crash it was said that some Wall Street Stockbrokers and Bankers JUMPED from their office windows and committed suicide when confronted with the news of their firms and clients financial ruin . .. . Many people were said to almost feel a little sorry for them . . . . .. .

... that today is the anniversary of the World's Largest Float? During a 1986 holiday parade in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the world's largest float took part. Among other things, the float contained a 17-foot tree, two 15-foot peppermint sticks, and 5,380 square feet of wrapping paper.

... that today is the birthday of the Computer Mouse? In 1968, Douglas Engelbart demonstrated his new pointing device for computer users. In the patent application it was described as an "X-Y position indicator for a display system." Engelbart later revealed that it was nicknamed the "mouse" because the tail came out the end. Now which would you rather call it?
