All of these are easy fixes if you start when the child is young. If my son didn't put the tissue on the holder, he was called to fix it. It didn't matter what he was doing. If he was asleep, I woke him up. Most parents would go on and fix the problem. My son and I each had a favorite glass and mug. That was all we ever used. When my son was about 12, he decided to use an empty mason jar. He'd make ice water close the lid and put it on his night table. And finally, he was not allowed to open anything he didn't buy! I bought cookies and snacks just for him, but if he ate them all, there was nothing until I went to the store again. He definitely wouldn't touch my lemon cookies!
 
As the manager of our hospital's softball team, I was responsible for returning equipment to the proper owners at the end of the season.

When I walked into the surgery department carrying a bat that belonged to one of the surgeons, I passed several patients and their families in a waiting area. I heard one man say to his wife, "Look, honey, here comes your anesthesiologist."

Tough luck for me. I'm the youngest of my siblings. I basically have to get downright ornery and deliver a swift kick to the forehead. I guess this is why I'm on Santa's naughty list this year.

I'm #2 of 4. I've always been the easy going child who by nature is a very giving person. Right now, I haven't spoken to my siblings or nephews and nieces in from 2 - 7 years. My friends keep telling me that I should try to reconcile my family. I refuse because they're holding grudges against me for stuff they did to me. (except my brother)

Stuff like my younger sister trying to get my son to put me in a nursing home after I fell! Then asking my oldest nephew when he planned on paying me the money he borrowed..........

If I didn't live close to my siblings or needed to depend on them, I would not speak to them. At. All. Unless I had to.

I know exactly how you feel. I read all these memes about family is everything. I know too many dysfunctional to families to believe all of it.

There is no perfect family. There's always the designated butthole, drunk, ne'er do well, baby factory/ho, the one you can't trust left alone...etc...
 
It was quiet here...and I’m making turkey tomorrow. I know..,better late than never. :D
 
It should be; but, I’m not always thankful for all the gifts I’ve been given...lesson learned. :rose:
