I started a new book. I pre-ordered it in March. I've already read half and might stay up and finish it tonight. The best part of being retired is being able to read, read, and then read some more.

You can always tell a teacher, active or retired: they read!

so how many more times will you read it afterwards

I'll read it again in about 6 months. Some books I never read again and those I delete from my Kindle. This is not one of those.

Stopping in to say Hi
Yes! The author is planning at least one novella based on characters. I've joined others in telling her that we want more! She's listening.
Another favorite author is planning a family reunion in her mythical city. I registered for that and paid the $300 fee. I almost waited until today. The 50 spots were gone within 2 hours! Folks who don't follow her on FB were left out unless a friend emailed them the information. Ms Bev has planned a lot of activities, so I'll probably stay an extra day or so to connect with a few distant relatives. I haven't been to Detroit in 10 years despite the fact that most of my grandmother's siblings lived there.

There will be activities, a dinner and who knows what else. There are at least 100 people who posted that they missed out! Authors who are active on social media are selling more books.
When I was in Dallas a few years ago, I had no idea what to expect. I went to meet Ms. Bev. Well I was waiting in the lobby with other women. (Our rooms weren't ready.) It wasn't until later that day that I learned that half of the women were published writers!
The writer hosting this event, Bev saw me standing with a group of women. She walked up to me, hugged me and asked the women if they knew my story. I told them about my fight with cancer. I didn't have my name tag on, but they knew me from FB.
Imagine how many people would pay for a weekend with Stephen King!
There are readers that attend 5 or 6 events every year. I'm not in that group. I would think that after 3 or 4, you would have met most of your favorite authors. I don't have books to be signed because I read ebooks. Several people brought every book they'd purchased recently to have signed. I might buy a couple of books to get signed to give to a friend, but no more.

well you have a lot of fun when you go D G O enjoy yourself and if you can afford it buy a Book and have it "signed"
I doubt that I buy a book there. I came home with dozens of free books in Dallas. I also won 2 of the raffle prizes. The money from the sale went to charity, so I didn't feel bad about buying 5 tickets. I had so much stuff that I shipped it home by USPS!

thanks for the Bump
My weekend was good, however my week got off to a rocky start. Yesterday I went to sit down and forgot I had moved the chair. I couldn’t get up. The office number wasn’t in my contacts. Called my sister at work who called the office. Today on top of a sore bottom, I started PT again! After PT I voted. Came home and fell asleep. I had to leave out a lot of details.

Thanks, I came home yesterday with a wheelchair and other stuff. I’ll continue my therapy at home. I have to see my doctors and see what the next step will be.
