The basic instinct dating back to our dirt monkey ancestors that invented gods to explain the unknown. Only when one educates themselves to the reality of the fear, does one conquer it.

I was meaning to face your fear, like keeping a flashlight handy to shine on noises. I was suggesting about thinking of what is the chance of that you fear happening? I know what makes lightning, and that houses contract with heat/cold at night. I know all the doors/windows are locked, and if someone breaks in, I know how to use this .45 auto next to me. Voila! No fear!
