In the UK we have a radio show called desert island discs and people (normally celebrities) are asked what records they would like to have with them on a desert Island to listen to and why. So any takers? What 3 records and why.

For me it would be:

Escape by Journey as it reminds me of Holidays
Underwater sunlight by Tangerine dream as it is great to relax to
Back in Black AC/DC - Probably the best rock album in the world

only three

Rust in piece - megadeth
Color and shape - foo fighters
reign in blood - slayer

Hey come on guys its easy to select three albums but why!!!!

Exile on Main Street ~ Rolling Stones. I could stop with this one because its that Fucking good
Legend ~ Bob Marley & the Wailers. Not a "Greatest Hits" fan, but come on
Cornell University 1977 ~ Grateful Dead. Best show they ever played. All systems go, all circuits firing.

ok rust in piece- melodic and hard rocking every song is great. it always needs to be listened to from start to finish it's like a complete musical piece.

color and the shape just great and very emotionally touching the whole way through.

riegn in blood there is no better metal, thrash, hard rock or whatever album this is it! period! but..not as melodic as rust in piece! lol

Bob Marley - Survival
Elvis Costello - Olivers Army
Tom Waits - Small Change

Just off the top of my head

Hounds of Love - Kate Bush
Fire and Water - Free
Rumours - Fleetwood Mac

Kate Bush is genius and this is her best album. The second side - The Ninth Wave - is stunning and every time I listen to it I find something else in it. It's a great adventure from start to finish.

Fire and Water I like to have sex to this album. Paul Rogers voice gives me the horn.

Rumours I just love and have done since my teens. I'd choose the remastered CD though with the extra tracks where Stevie's voice is exceptionally pure and sweet.
