Until you started weighing in on guns on the AH--which along with this even makes me question your actual gender--the politics didn't enter in at all, no. Now, because of what to me are dangerously extremist, antisocial views, contrary to and threatening to the fabric of the underpinnings of this country and many others, they inevitably do. I've been revealing my politics on the board for years--which mostly travel between the two extremes we see posted here (although the extreme reactionaries refuse to acknowledge that)--so I don't think anyone's misled by what they are no matter where I post.

Someone isn't really a different person on different boards they post to, though (unless they are faking it there or everywhere, which does happen, of course). I can certainly focus on the specific content of the separate boards, but the best that can be achieved given the wide disparity on perspectives I see here is distant politeness. I wouldn't go to coffee with someone who believes what you have posted here--or expect you to go to coffee with me, either--and that, symbolically, was what we did on one AH thread.

Thus, my response that you can't just trot back to the AH and everything be the same there for you with everyone you interact with on the AH as before you posted to this thread. It's fine with me if I'm the only one disappointed by that.

Oh I would. Do it all the time in real life. I just keep my mouth shut and stay away from politics. I'm really not that fanatical about it, certainly not to the extent that I see on different websites around the place and here from people I know. I just wish people could keep to the middle of the road, and that's half the problem, a lot of people don't. And that level of extremism and the societal dichotomy it brings is part of the problem we have today.

Still, it is what it is... and I understand your views. I often feel the same way when I listen to the other extreme.... doesn't change how I regard you - I have read a few of your posts over here in the past and it hasn't change my opinion of you.

It's not hard to see why the campaign would hold a grudge against the Daily Beast. Last July, the website published a piece titled "Ex-Wife: Donald Trump Made Me Feel 'Violated' During Sex."


The writers quoted Trump's lawyer, Michael Cohen, as threatening to sue them if they wrote the story and telling them, "I’m warning you, tread very fucking lightly, because what I’m going to do to you is going to be fucking disgusting."
