Demon: The Fallen

"There is a powerful vampire that runs a sort of beauty salon, her name is Giacoma San Saint. She uses the vampiric discipline of flesh crafting to enhance the beauty of her clients, mostly other vampires, but she practices on mortals as well, which is a grievous breach of vampiric law. We would like you to go to her and see if she will perform such on you. Do not worry, I am certain that I am sufficiently powerful enough that whatever she does to you, I can undo. And as far as being 'clean', that simply means that you have not been adversely altered by supernatural powers, as of yet. Granted, Enumael has removed cancer from your breast, but removals rarely leave any lasting trace, only additions. If Gia were to sense the touch of the supernatural on you, she might suspect you to be an enemy."

"Oh." She started to agree, then hesitated, "Wait! What do you mean? Whatever she does to me? What would she do to me?" She asked, gulping back a mass amount of fear. "Would she try and bite me?!??!?!?!" She bit her lip as butterflies entered her stomach. Maybe she shouldn't have asked. Maybe she should have just pretended to be asleep.

No, it was better she know now than to find out later...after being in the vampiric salon. "Enumael said something about it being dangerous, what did he mean?" She asked

"Bite you? Hardly... She has plenty of blood dolls to sate her thirst. No, she would not bite you. However, I would warn you that a Tzimice's idea of beauty is a peculiar and perverse thing. If you asked for killer looks... Well... She would deliver, just not in the way you would expect."

"And why exactly do you need me to go? Other than the fact that I'm ...clean? I mean, what is the purpose exactly?" Elise asked, now playing with her blonde hair.

"To find out if Gia is indeed performing her flesh craft on mortals, of course." William answered stepping closer to Elise. "I remind you, you and Enumael both benefit from Valdimer's hospitality only as long as you are worthy of it."

Elise backed up slightly, "How? I mean, if this is all about hospitality, I don't have to stay here, I could go back to my own apartment. I don't think it's right that I should feel like I owe anyone, especially when I feel like I'm being kidnapped." Her eyes narrowed at the mage.

"Elise, when you chose Enumael over your old life, you chose a wider world, a world of darkness. That life you knew, you cannot go back to, please understand. We only want to keep you safe, but if you are unwilling to help us, how can we help you?"

"And if something should happen to me?" Elise asked silently, knowing that what he said was true. She didn't have to stay, she could've easily just walked away and never see Enumael again, but she didn't think she was capable of doing such task.

"Then we'll reach in and pull you out of the fire, so to speak." William replied with a polite bow. "So, will you do this?" He asked as he rose.

Elise fought back a sigh and glanced over at Enumael, looking so utterly helpless.

"Yes..." she whispered. She knew that if she didn't she'd feel guilty.

"Well then, it looks like its been decided. I release you Enumael." William said, causing Norman to lurch forward a step. "Elise... Don't..." He stammered before lowering his head.

Elise looked over at Enumael and wondered why he didn't want her to do this. Obviously, she'd have to wait until William left to ask him. Was there something that William had failed to tell her? She frowned at the thought. "Can I speak to Enumael first? Please?"

"Of course, I will leave the two of you now, come down to the bar when you are ready, and a driver will be wating to take you to the salon." William stated as he bowed again before leaving the room.

Enumael looked up. "You don't have to do this Elise, you can always go back to your old life you know... The Tzemice are wicked things, even by vampiric standards, bereft of human compassion. Flesh is litterally a toy to them, like molding clay."

Elise chewed her lip again, showing how nervous she was. "I-is that what you want?" She asked, "For me to..go back to my previous way of life. " She felt like she was near the point of crying but refrained from doing so. "I mean, if thats what you want...then I'll do it."

She didn't want to do it, but she would...if that was what Enumael wanted. "If not, then tell me..what would happen if I go? I'm 80 percent certain that there were things that William didn't tell me, especially if you're worrying about this."

"Oh Elise, of course I want you to stay! I would be nothing without you... But, I love you too much to ask you to put yourself in constant danger. If you stay, I'm afraid that this Gia might do something to you that not even William, with all his vaunted powers, could fix."

Her heart beat wildly at the mention of Enumael actually wanting her. Elise hugged him closely, a look of pure anguish covering her face. "And if I left, we would never see each other again, would we?" She whispered, tracing her fingers up and down his chest.

She tried to think of what her life without Enumael, she couldn't. "No, d-don't answer that. I think I already know the answer." She pulled away from him. "I have to do this, because I don't think I could handle never seeing you again. I.." she bit her lip, scared to say anything, scared to say the l word. She'd never said the l word, ever in her life. "I love you.."

"I know." Enumael whispered as he stepped in to embrace her again, even though her back was turned. "I would give my life for you, you know..."

Elise hadn't realized he loved her that much and smiled. She leaned against him, "And my doing this must prove how much I love you, what I'd do for you...just to be with you." She turned around and hugged him tightly, scared that he might disappear if she let him go.

Enumael embraced Elise just as tightly as she did him. He closed his eyes as he bowed his head, resting his lips atop her head as a tear beaded up and ran down his cheek. Emotion choked off his words as he forced himself to take a ragged breath.

Elise finally let go and pulled away from Enumael. "Well, wish me luck." She forced a smile, knowing what she was about to do was dangerous but, the sooner she did this, the sooner she could return to her fallen angel. "I'll be back, I-I promise. After all, I'm clean remember? There's no way she'll know I've interacted with anything supernatural." Another forced smile to hide her fears.

She walked downstairs to find William. He was sitting in the foyer with Valdimer and the werewolf. "I'm ready."

"Good luck..." Enumael whispered as Elise left the room.

William stood and bowed politely to Elise as she approached, the other two remained seated. Val looked up with a nod, and Cervie looked up as well, his eyes resting on her chest as he licked his lips. "Down boy." Val muttered before finally rising. "I will have Joseph drive you to the salon, Miss." William said with a smile. "Please, follow me." He added as he led the way to a nice black stretch limo.

She gave one more glance at Enumael before nodding at William and following him. She couldn't believe she was going to do this. This was something that she didn't normally do, things for others..that constituted in her being in any danger. Before, she easily blamed it on the fact that she had breast cancer and that getting close to someone, as she had gotten with Enumael was forbidden.

Now, Elise didn't think she'd forgive herself if she just left Enumael.

William opened the rear right door for Elise. The limo was posh, with a mini bar and everything. The scar faced bartender she'd seen the first night she'd met Norman was in the drivers seat, looking at her through the rear view mirror. He nodded to her as she got in and William closed the door behind her. "Miss." Joe said as he put the limo into and started driving.

As Elise slid inside the limo and gave the driver a tiny smile as he started to drive. Her mind was caught up in what might possibly happen. What if she didn't make it, what if this...Gia person, killed her. Then she'd never see Enumael again. She bit her lip trying to force back tears.

"You gonna be alright?" The driver asked, glancing up at her through the rear view. "You look kinda torn up." He added as he stopped at a light.
