A poll from the Economist and YouGov found that 40% of people thought the Inflation Reduction Act would increase inflation, while just 12% thought it would decrease it. An additional 23% thought it would have no effect on inflation at all.

Of course, the bill was never about inflation. It was just another Democratic spending spree with billions for climate, healthcare, and the Internal Revenue Service. Once it was passed by the Senate, legacy media began referring to it as a climate bill, dropping the inflation reduction charade immediately. President Joe Biden and Democratic politicians tried to use the concerns about inflation to justify a bill that will certainly drive inflation up, hoping to give Biden one “win” before Democrats lose the House in the midterm elections.

What the bill actually does is dump $369 billion in spending on climate provisions and another $64 billion in "temporary" Obamacare subsidies. Another $80 billion goes to the Internal Revenue Service, which will hire 87,000 new agents over the next decade, increasing the number of audits and the number of lower- and middle-class taxpayers being audited.

Incorrect. They just also care about.multiple other things at the same time

What 40% of people think in the abstract really doesn't matter. It's what actually does happen, and that doesn't depend on Republican rhetoric the way public opinion does.

what inflation

there is no inflation
there is only Russian misinformation being peddled by republicans

every thinking person knows that because their money goes just as far as it used to

in other words higher prices are nothing more than corporate greed because we do not tax them enough
