Dell Computers

I'd always heard that Dell are very good,with after-sales service
that is second to none.

Well,maybe.

I can say that their pre-sales service sucks bigtime.

I ordered a new computer from Dell online.Same day I had confirmation and next day the paperwork was emailed and duly printed out by me.

Two problems now.The specification wasn't quite right and the rate of interest was 9 points above the original quote.

Phoned the contact number,no answer.Emailed Dell.3 days later
no response.

Phoned again,got promised a call back for that day.Didn't happen.

Phoned next day(Saturday),got promised a call back for Monday.
You've guessed ,it didn't happen.

Today I bought a higher spec PC and saved £250 as well but not from Dell.

I suppose all computer companies have problems from time to time - but overall I've had pretty good luck with Dell - both buying several personal use computers from them and buying workplace computers. I did have one arrive DOA, but they had an onsite service person come out and look at it, then send it back and got a replacement.

Oh and MIG, ignore the trolls.

I personally have a gateway...but most of my friends swear by Dell. I dunno, I guess you just got one of the few lemons.
