Hi guys, I'm hoping that someone can give me some assistance. I have to take my tower in for some repairs....my question. My husband and I visit some "interesting" internet sites. And just for fun sometimes we do erotic searches just to see what comes up. Does anyone know how to delete the information that becomes stored on your harddrive. I know how to delete history and temp files but I also know that there are areas where information is hidden and not deleted by these means.

Can anyone tell me how to delete this. The business that have to take it to is local, (small town) and the tech person is a friend of a friend and VERY noisy!!

Any suggestions would be great. Also if there is software designed to do this without upsetting the important things on my PC, I'd like to know about those as well.

Thanks guys!!

delete all your cookies. and go to your temprary internet files. and delete everything in there.

C://documents and settings/*your username*/Local Settings/Temporary Internet Files

and

C://documents and settings/*your username*/Local Settings/Temp

if you cannot see those folders.. click on Tools. and select folder options. then select "Show hidden files and folders"

that should help.

There are several good freeware "track erasers" available to do exactly what you're looking for. Google should turn up several, or you can try one of the downloads sites like CNet.com or Tucows.com.

Thanks

Thanks guys, I really appreciate your help with this. I would rather just buy a new PC than have to suffer the embarrassement of having everyone in my church, including my In Laws know what lifestyle we choose to lead.

thanks again!!

Might want to check your general document history (Start >> Documents) as well. Would be terrible to go to all the trouble of deleting all the files etc only to leave womandrinksbucketofcumwhiletakingitupthebutt.jpg in the document history. (though I'd assume anything like windows washer should take care of that).

And at a risk of stating the obvious, dont forget your bookmarks.

Check the Favorites folder when you want to clear the documents, as what the "documents" option on the start menu shows is often a subset of this.

But quick & easy is TweakUI, and Micro$soft "power toy".

Win 9x Power Toys

Install TweakIU, go to the control panel and start TweakIU and then click on the "Paranoia" tab...
