Defensively...we have some weaknesses. We "panic defend" and our clearances are costly. We didn't hold possession well against Ghana, but dominated in that aspect with the Portuguese. Germany and Ghana scored against us with a bit of luck.

Well I guess you could call it luck. What I saw with Ghana was a very physical style of play which I like altho they lost, which I don't like.

But Germany & Ghana are both relentless, kinda like a full court press in basketball or the no huddle offense in football. This puts pressure on a defense and will expose its weaknesses, so if Belgium can maintain this style of play, look for the us to be heading home.

If I had a ballsac, you would be holding the Butcher knife that just removed them.

I'm going to cry.

Bully.

If anything, it might be the other way round. Belgium have players who want time on the ball. If the US can close them down, the higher up the pitch the better, they could stop the Belgians playing. Won't be pretty but could be effective.

I said "if" Belgium can do this. I haven't seen them play so I don't know what they're capable of.

Anyplace I can  to make it better? ;)

This is true. Guys with thoughts of their own glory hardly inspire teamwork.

Dudes.
I'm sad for the US Men.
I am, however, ecstatic that Americans are finally taking notice of the beautiful game.
Hats off to Tim Howard.

And now.....Go Messi!

Why you gotta' bring up old shit? LOL

I'm sorry. Just being petty. I'll try to be better.

After yesterday and today, I don't know what to think. I thought NL, then they went 120 minutes against Costa Rica??? And frankly, if the ref could see, Colombia would be going through, not Brazil. (I almost have to a agree with Maradona... shiver).

It's looking more and more like a German year. Woe is me.

Argh, Netherlands-Costa Rica... my chest still hurts.... It was so frustrating to see the Costa Ricans aiming for a penalty kick off from the first minute on.... I have to admit, their defence was impeccable... five players in a straigt line at any time. Still, a very much deserved win for the Netherlands. Nice touch with replacing the goalkeeper just before the kick off right?

They heavily prepared for PK's with Krul. Final four are all exceptional....Will be fun to watch and I'm hoping the Orange can find a way to win.

Some great matches this weekend. Everybody played their hearts out. That #11 for the orange is a player. He never gave up.

But I'm thinking it'll come down to Brazil vs Argentina with Argentina taking the cup.
