Been to both several times. The Smithsonian Museums are great to visit. Some of my favorites are National History, American Indian, American Art, Hirshorn, Air and Space. No cost to visit but some long lines. Last visit we visited the Tomb of the unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. Best to enjoy the history and take the politics out of it.

I walked by the east side of the White House on Easter morning one year at the same time President Obama and his family were walking to church on the west side of the White House.
